This may be a longshot, but the doctor has recommended that James try some mindfulness apps, and as first-hand experience is always best, I was wondering if anyone uses/used them? He's willing to pay for a download as long as it's not too much.

I didn't sleep well last night, so I think snowflake will wait until tomorrow, plus that will give me time to think about my answer. Well, think about my answer or sit mindlessly watching tv while dozing on the couch. To be honest, either could happen right now.

I've used emindful.com before since it was free through my work. Not sure if it still has free classes or not.

But they had live meditations at set times which I found super helpful since it guaranteed I'd do it since I couldn't put it off since it was live.

i've used headspace! it's quite nice--my problem is consistency more than the app itself. i never used the paid version, but i found it had nice functionality even just at the free tier.

I used this briefly as well and didn't hate it, which is about as far as my praise for mindfulness and meditation apps will go. XD

i haven't used mindfulness apps per se, but for simple guided meditations i really like Let's Meditate on android - it's a free collection of nice recorded meditations, from 5 minutes to an hour long. i sometimes use them when i need to relax or fall asleep quickly, and i like that there are no ads or frills or whatever.

I picked up the paid version of Calm on sale & have been using it much more consistently than I expected.

iirc, with headspace, it automatically gives you daily reminders at the time you set

Good luck finding an app that works for James!

I hope you've been sleeping better the last couple of nights.
