I've just watched the first episode of Picard and very much enjoyed it.

It was fantastic to see Picard again, there's just something about him that makes you sit up and take notice. And I really liked his new living situation and Number One the dog. It made sense that he'd left Starfleet for the reasons he did and that his sense of honour and justice remained so strong. I also liked that they showed he had aged, for example, when he couldn't keep up with Dahj when they were running up the stairs. Because of course, he would have aged.

And, that end scene with the Borg cube. So great.

So yeah, a very solid first episode and I can't wait to meet all the new characters

It was a morning of appointments. Tinker has put on 50g in two days so the vet was happy with her but thinks she needs monthly B12 injections which is a shame as we'd been trying for 6 weekly. So, she's back in a month, plus we came away with some emergency appetite boost tablets in case she goes downhill again on a weekend.

After we brought her home it was off to the doctors for James' appointment. Thankfully his blood pressure has dropped, which is good as yesterday they were making noises about the hospital if it hadn't. But, his cholesterol is too high so he needs to make lifestyle changes to deal with that. But, it was still a mostly good visit and we thought he wouldn't be back for a week for another blood pressure test. Then, after we'd been home for a while the doctor phoned and said she'd seen a note on one of the ECGs he'd had taken over the last two visits and they need to check something and make sure the tablets he's on won't make a minor issue worse. So, another blood test and ECG has been booked for Monday.

Overall though, all news was good, so I'll take it.

Yeah that’s true, even mum was watching which she doesn’t often do when I put stuff on. I agree with all of that🖤

That end scene was just 🖤

*hugs* I’m glad the vet was happy with her, hers hoping it works out

That’s good news!

Ah, it's good to hear that you enjoyed Picard. I know lots of folks who were SUPER EXCITED ABOUT IT. Sadly (?) for me, Star Trek was never a thing I pinged to. However, Patrick Stewart is a fave and knowing that you and other Trekkies are liking the new show makes me happy.

Yays also for Tinker for putting on some weight. And woot for James's BP dropping.

Lots of good news is a great thing. <3

While I've never been a Next Generation fan (I'm all for TOS!) I love that they're not rebooting it but instead making the new show about an older Picard. I'm so tired of reboots and smooth young faces everywhere!

That's good to hear about Tinker. I'm keeping everything crossed she'll soon be back to her usual self!

And equally good to hear that James' blood pressure is down and I'm sure the ECG and meds thingy will turn out to be nothing serious.

I enjoyed Picard a lot too!

Like you I loved that they "allowed" Picard to have aged and to *feel* his age. Yes, he wouldn't be able to run as fast or for as long as before and you know what? We don't care! He's still the same awesome captain he was back then.

I'm quite impatient to meet the new characters too (I can't wait to see Santiago Cabrera in such a setting). And it's going to be awesome to see some other familiar faces too. We're in for a ride, I think :)

Overall though, all news was good, so I'll take it.

*hugs* Let's hope it keeps that way. A break would be pretty lovely...

The appointments just don't stop, do they! But I'm glad to hear the good news for both James and Tinker. I hope they continue getting good care.
