Thank you,
rikes for the DW points, it was such a lovely and unexpected surprise ♥
I know I have werewolf trope fans on my flist. I sent this rec to
teigh_corvus so figured I'd share here too. Winterhawk, werewolves, a nice bit of angst, good writing and a story I very much enjoyed. Hold On To This Feeling
Yet again it's another beautiful, sunny day. Though a sharp temp drop is forecast for the weekend with snow flurries too, and the hell, weather? Going from 20 today down to 7 within days isn't on. I've got courgettes ready to put in the raised bed but I'm not risking it with that weather on the horizon. Oh well, I'll just have to enjoy the days that it is warm and sunny.
Which is what I've been doing the last couple of days. I've planted a load of flowers, re-potted a lot of tomato plants and just generally tidied up the garden, including getting rid of some of the old, tatty hanging baskets and broken solar lights. Of which I have many as I brought down all the stuff from mam's garden too.
If I go out today it'll be to a background of noise from next door as my neighbour is replacing his fence. It badly needed it and I was chatting to his partner this morning saying how we're getting a section of ours replaced next week and we both agreed it's going to be fantastic to have gates that can be easily used and not propped shut. She has to use a plant pot and I have to use a statue so we'll both be enjoying that new gate high. It's going to cost £200 just for a small section of fence and the gate but it'll be money well spent, and it's not like we're going anywhere to spend money just now.
A point that ties nicely into the fact Milo had to go back to the vets two days ago. I thought he had an ear infection as he'd pull his head back when I touched his right ear. I knew it would mean more money being added to the vets bill but I also knew it was better to catch things early and have a small amount added than wait and maybe have things get worse. As an aside, Murphy has the best insurance we could get for him, no way will I ever have an uninsured pet again. It turns out Milo doesn't have an infection in his ear but Sarah the vet thinks it's some lingering effects from the infection before that's settled behind his eyes, so he's on antibiotics again.
The appointment itself was weird. I had to leave him in his carrier in the foyer of the vets and then stand back and watch until the nurse picked him up. Then we went to the car park opposite and waited as he was seen. Sarah did make me laugh as she mentioned his weight -- he's 6.5 kg now and was 6.7 kg at his last visit and she asked if we'd done that on purpose, and poor Milo, body shamed at the vet. Not that he's fat, he's just a big cat.
Murphy has a new thing where he's discovered the light pull in the bathroom, so when he's upstairs all you can hear is clink, clink, clink, as the pull hits the tiles, then the sound of the light being switched on and off. We also bought him a new bed, so now not only does he fight Milo for the top doughnut, but he also fights for the new bed.
Murphy in his new slouch bed.

Milo in the doughnut.

I took a close-up too to show more than a black and white blob, but he was hiding his face.

I finished watching The Gifted and while I don't thank anyone will be watching or want to watch now, will cut for the end episode
I can't believe that it ended on a cliffhanger and they then cancelled the show. I mean, the hell? What's frustrating is if they'd cut off the end few minutes it would have been a satisfying end but obviously thought they were coming back for a new season so a supposedly dead character reappeared and created a wormhole to some kind of disastrous scene and then, nothing. The show ended and was cancelled. Again, the hell?!

Date: 2020-05-07 05:02 pm (UTC)Murphy really is a pawful. I can hear him up there now, click clicking away.

Date: 2020-05-07 05:23 pm (UTC)I gave him dinner, so he forgave me, and Mum gave him cheese, so he forgave her. Then she gave him a pill, so she had to give him more cheese because this was most upsetting after such an evening.

Date: 2020-05-07 04:41 pm (UTC)Oh, Milo. You're a cute blob. Meanwhile, Murphy will continue to be the kitteniest kitten, huh? XD
I accidentally read the spoiler and now I have quietly taken off my Hulu queue, hahah. It does suck that it ended that way, unlike the other X-Men show (Legion?) which had a proper finale.

Date: 2020-05-07 05:00 pm (UTC)It's a shame the show ended as it did as up until then I was very satisfied with what happened. Things made sense and if they had only cut those last few minutes I wouldn't have ever known about this next arc.
I'm going to be very happy when the fence is fixed, it's leaning over big time now, and my neighbour was telling me how a scrap man was in her garden the other day looking for metal, and I'd rather they kept out of mine. I mean, I know if they want something badly enough they'd jump over the fence, but at least a shut gate would delay them a bit.
He was a big sleepy black and white blob. And now hates me again for giving the hated antibiotics.

Date: 2020-05-07 05:29 pm (UTC)FTR, the other instances are in cases of animal harm (including death) and child harm (including death) as those are things I deffo need and absolutely appreciate getting warned for.

Date: 2020-05-07 06:05 pm (UTC)Aww Milo, I hope he’ll be ok.
And new bed and Murphy being cute, he’s so sweet
Boo that’s the worst way to end shows

Date: 2020-05-08 02:00 pm (UTC)Murphy loves that bed, though he's back behind me again now pinching my chair.
It was such a bad way to end the show and wasn't needed at all.

Date: 2020-05-08 04:23 am (UTC)Poor Milo, I hope the antibiotics give him some relief. Fuzzy cat paws are gr8 even if he was feeling camera-shy. And Murphy looks positively blissful - must be a good bed!

Date: 2020-05-08 01:58 pm (UTC)I wish this infection would just go for him already. It probably would have if he hadn't spat out half of his tablets last time, but you can't tell cats that.

Date: 2020-05-12 04:34 pm (UTC)Poor Milo! I hope the new antibiotics will work swiftly and well.
Murphy's new toy sounds very amusing for him but much less so for you :-) He's looking so cute snoozing in the new bed! And Milo looks remarkably like Lancecat would if he was black & white - just a large mound of slightly fuzzy fur :-)

Date: 2020-05-14 05:03 pm (UTC)Milo has one tablet left and seems fine now. Which I'm glad about as I hated leaving him at the vets.
Yeah, a large mound of slightly fuzzy fur describes them both. As for Murphy, he still loves to turn on the bathroom light. We just leave him to it now, he eventually turns it off again.
