Nov. 25th, 2020 09:15 amPoor Milo is sick again.
He was poorly over the weekend, obviously not himself and was hardly drinking and not touching food Monday morning. Got him an emergency appointment at the vets and they suspect he's got a UTI. He has to go in every day this week for fluids and is on four different kinds of meds twice a day. Though that hasn't actually been an issue as Lucie the vet gave us some pill pockets for him to try and he loves them so will take his tablets no issues at all. He's much better than he was but when he's fully well we'll have to think about what to do about his steroids because she mentioned taking them makes him more prone to infections. So, it's a balancing act of do we keep him on them so his ears are okay and risk another infection, or start something else from scratch?
Kayleigh was also there yesterday with her youngest cat and it turns out Aboo has a really bad overactive thyroid and a goitre on her neck. What surprised me was despite having insurance, Kayleigh had to pay the total upfront and then will hopefully get it back from the insurance. Unlike Megan and Murphy's insurance where all we pay is the excess and the remainder just stays on the bill until the insurance clears it. You wouldn't think the companies would be so different but apparently so.
A good thing, James has started to get a steady trickle of orders in for his Pyrography shop he set up. He's selling over Etsy and FB with the wooden advent calenders being a good seller, especially the Nightmare Before Christmas ones he produced. It's something he really enjoys doing and is getting better all the time.
I enjoyed the Bake Off final last night. I liked all the finalists so didn't care who won and loved the catchup parts about each contestant at the end. It was also the final ep of 911 Lonestar last night, which is one of my new favourite shows as it's utter ridiculous crack, but that's to watch tonight because I always have to watch Bake Off live due to inevitable spoilers. I do hope Lonestar comes back soon as I'll miss that insane show full of hot characters I really root for.
To end, a photo of Milo and Murphy

Aww the catchup at the end was nice, I wasn’t sure if there’d be one this year so was glad they did

Date: 2020-11-25 12:57 pm (UTC)But, he's home from his latest appointment and is doing well. Temp normal and put on a bit of weight. So, two more appointments for fluids and he's free :D

Date: 2020-11-25 12:57 pm (UTC)I really like the stuff in James' shop - that's way cool. if I can get some cash ahead, maybe I can commission something small for Teddy if you guys can make an exception to the 'no shipping to US' rule. I know international shipping is a pain, so I'd completely understand if that's not feasible. but that's not anything to worry about now, as I don't have extra money.
that photo is great - I think Murphy is taunting Milo :)

Date: 2020-11-25 04:18 pm (UTC)Of course, he'd make an exception. And when you're ready he said he'll be happy to work something out with you, at mate's rates too.
You know, I think you're right, that is a taunting Murphy!

Date: 2020-11-26 09:34 pm (UTC)I've got really into GBBO this year. I never understood the love for it, but I've watched like 3 or 4 seasons of and... I'm in love. I wanted Dave to win but Peter really deserved it. That catch-up had me bawling

Date: 2020-12-06 06:14 pm (UTC)I've loved Bake Off pretty much from the start. It's always so gentle with the bakers mostly being supportive of each other. It's a lovely thing to see.

ETA: the contrast between Milo's melancholy and Murphy's hyperalert curiosity is very striking.

Awww, that is totally Murphy taunting poor Milo! He's such a little rascal :-D

Murphy was so taunting Milo. The tables will turn in a few weeks when Murphy needs to go for his boosters *g*

Date: 2020-11-30 09:53 am (UTC)2020 will be the year of wood burning as well as covid for me. The memories will always come along with the scent of smoke as James rested and burned.
