May. 26th, 2021 08:00 amIt's such a wet day today. I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere unless I choose to do so, maybe a walk later if it dries up.
Yesterday I had a letter to post, and it was also the day the new Iceland opened in town. The shop is opposite the post office so I decided to go in for a look, and it's very shiny. Also, very crowded yesterday. I'll probably continue to go to other supermarkets, but it's going to be handy to have somewhere within walking distance for top-up freezer stuff. Though, they didn't have sugar snaps or bean sprouts so I had to go to Lidl anyway, which in comparison to Iceland seemed like a calm oasis.
It was also the day that the h/c exchange went live yesterday. You'll have seen I got a most excellent story, but there was a bit of a kerfuffle with the story I'd submitted. In that, it hadn't been posted properly so as far as the challenge was concerned I'd defaulted and someone else had posted a story for my recipient. But after emails to the mods and then the AO3 bug hitting meaning my story wouldn't unreveal itself, so had to be resubmitted totally, it finally did go live.
It's had good feedback already, which I'm thrilled about as it's something I haven't written before. The comment from my recipient especially made me grin as I tried really hard to write something they'd love, so knowing I'd hit the mark was great. It's just a shame my assignment page still says I defaulted, but, I can get over that.
Actually, a cold, wet day is perfect for hitting all the new h/c stories. So, I suspect that's just what I'll be doing later.

Reading is made for cold and wet days. When it's sunny and warm I always feel like I should be outside.

Date: 2021-06-01 06:17 am (UTC)I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties with posting your fic! I'm glad it did make it out into the world in the end. And if the recip enjoyed it, that's the thing that matters.

Date: 2021-06-01 06:54 am (UTC)It was a pain getting my fic into the world. A pain partially of my own making so I won't complain too much.
