Jun. 13th, 2023 04:12 pmNearly seven months since the taxi bumped into it, we finally got the phone call today that our car is going in to be fixed at the end of this week. They say a hire car will be waiting, but considering they'd put aside a manual when James can only drive an automatic, I suspect things may still not go smoothly. But still, one more step toward Rosie having a complete wing mirror and undented side panels again.
Milo had his nails cut by the visiting vet nurse this morning. She was so great with him, rewarding with some Dreamies, and giving some to Murphy too even though he spent the whole visit watching from a distance. Considering it cost the same as a nail trim at the vets it was well worth the money.
Then after that, we've been for a walk at the coast and enjoyed a diet Coke in an ocean-side beer garden.
I also snagged a Magic Bag to a new-to-us place and picked that up after nipping into Company, as both places were close together. I really should have seen what was in the Magic Bag first as I duplicated salad stuff, potatoes and strawberries, but all will be used. The bag was excellent value for what I paid, though strangely I was given two carriers full, the contents of each identical. Included in that was two cartons of oat milk, which made me smile as Company had a special of the long life stuff last week where you could buy six cartons of oat and almond milk for £1. So as I drink both I came home with 12 cartons, and now I have two more.
And ha, the nurse has just posted Milo on FB -- she did ask if she could earlier.

Yay for a nice walk and sit down.
That's a lot of milk!

So much milk! Thankfully most of it is the long-life kind so doesn't need to be stored in a fridge. Otherwise, I'd be seriously running out of space for actual food.

Date: 2023-08-13 02:55 pm (UTC)Yep. The long life stuff can last for many many months without needing to be in the fridge. It doesn't taste exactly the same, but close enough that it's always handy to have some in the house for if I run out of the fresh milk.

Awww, he's still a cutie! (But I think he wants more treats and fewer trims!)

I was surprised at the cost as I was expecting more as she comes to the house. I wasn't really sure what to expect at first but she was so good with Milo, gave him fusses, got the job done and was gone within 15 minutes.
But I think you're right, Milo would want more treats and fewer trims *g*

Date: 2023-06-16 07:39 pm (UTC)That's so cool getting Milo's claws trimmed at home cost the same as at the clinic! He's such a cute and grumpy old man in that photo *scritches him behind the ears*

I don't think he was impressed at someone coming into his house to trim his nails!
So much milk. I'm very glad it's the kind that doesn't need to be cold.
