Day 3: What question would you like to see in The June Something?

Erm, how about, do you have a OTP? If so, what was your first/last OTP and who were they?

Day 4: What's your most treasured piece of fandom merch?
Bonus: What's your most treasured fandom freebie?
Alt Bonus: What's your most expensive piece of fandom merch?

The question is leading toward Voyager again, back in the days when I went to Trek cons I bought a print of the five Captains that had been around at the time, and now have it signed by Patrick Stewart, Kate Mulgrew and William Shatner. Sadly I suspect it's going to be impossible to get Avery Brooks to ever sign and while I may have a better chance with Scott Bakula, it's still very tiny as I don't go to the cons now. Still, three out of five signatures isn't bad.

I'm going to cheat and say two, both of which were given to me by other fans. First, the Mikey Way mask from The Black Parade era. Thing is, no one ever admitted they sent it to me, it was such an amazing surprise and I'll never forget opening that parcel. Second, it was the artwork I received for a bandom big bang I did. This was seriously the best experience I've ever had in a big bang, Squashbee was such a talented artist and not only kept in touch with me all through the process but also sent a file in the mail containing the final pieces of work plus all the works in progress that had been done at the end of the exchange. I still have all of those sketches. The icon I'm using here is a digital copy of one of them.

For the last question, back to Voyager. I was at a Voyager con and they were selling a big poster of the con that had been signed by all the actors attending, which was pretty much every member of the main cast. It was expensive and I'd never buy it now, but back then, pre-Corey expenses, it seemed a sensible thing to buy, and it's been on display in my house ever since.

My SiL's appointment went okay yesterday, but I ended up getting soaked and looked like I needed wringing out once we got there. The rain which was refreshing when we first set off just kept getting heavier, and by the time we'd reached the hospital was pelting down as I got the wheelchair out of the car and got my MiL settled. My SiL would have done it but I figured it was better she stay dry for the appointment so I stayed on wheelchair pushing duties, and didn't even get the chance to squeeze out my hair before we had to leave the department my SiL was in to go to the main hospital to wait in the cafe for an hour, a journey that was mostly outside of course.

Then, when we went to pick her up we sat in the hallway outside of the department and spotted what looked like steam coming out of cracks in the floor. As the rain had stopped by then and the sun was blazing again we all thought it actually was steam so just kept sitting there. Only for a nurse to appear, get alarmed at the smoke coming from the floor and go for help.

Turns out something was overheating in the basement and we were encouraged to move out of the way for our own safety. Oops.

Today we've met Kayleigh and Bodhi for coffee, went to the park with them, spent some time at their house after, then James had an hour of playing phone tag as the hire car developed a flat tyre. Normally he'd get straight onto the AA but didn't know what to do with it being a hire car, and for a while, it seemed they didn't know either, but eventually got us booked into a nearby garage. Thankfully, when the flat was first discovered we were a very short distance from another garage, and they were helpful and filled the tyre to pressure again. But it was still a bit of a nervous drive to the next garage. Turned out, there was a screw in the tyre and I had to wonder who has hexed us car wise.

I'm glad the appointment went well, but I'm sorry you spent most of the day soaking wet!

Yay for meeting up with Kayleigh and Bodhi!

I'm glad the tire was fixed before it became a real issue.

Cars are cursed! I'm glad you didn't get slow cooked by the floor though (eeep!)

Three out of five signatures are awesome, particularly since they're the most iconic captains!

I remember how happy you were about that bigbang art. It must have been so cool getting to collabourate with an artist like that.

You have to show us a photo of that poster!

I'm glad the hospital visit went well but I feel for you getting so wet! I hope you didn't manage to catch a cold because of it!

You've really had bad luck with cars recently. Let's hope you'll have better luck from now on!
