I had a night off last night. I realised that I hadn't actually read any new long slash for a while, and considering what a slash slut I am that's not on. I used to read fanfic every night, now it's been a few weeks.

I have been reading small stories onlist and in LJ, but I missed the long stuff, things that take more than five minutes to read. So I turned off Word with only minor guilt and tried to forget the long list of e-mails that still mock me and had a night for *me*

It was fun, wandering from fandom to fandom. I went back to my roots and read Trek, some old Voyager faves and looked for some Enterprise slash. I really like Enterprise, especially Trip, but I've never entered the fandom, so I had trouble finding the good stuff. But I eventually read enough Tucker/Reed to satisfy me. Then I moved onto Voyager. Chakotay/Paris have a special place in my heart. Tom Paris - one of my first fandom loves, so brave and cute and vulnarable, and so ruled by fanon *g* But that's how I love my Tom.

Went on to some Popslash ( I *like* popslash okay. I love reading about sparkly boys of the BSB variety, Kevin just makes me melt.)

Then visited some old Poltergeist the Legacy sites, took in some Derek/Nick slash, and remembered why I dislike Derek slashed, so ended up at the X-Men archives. All this XM2 talk reawakened my Gambit love, so i was a happy camper in the Remy/Logan archive.

Guess I was just greedy last night *g* I'm paying for the late night now though. Especially as I have to go and be productive now. Procrastinating? Me? Never!

I've just been checking my e-mail lists and am astounded and pretty pissed at one just now. It's a TS list and they're doing the whole who's at fault thing *again* Listing times that Blair was mean to Jim, and vice versa. How old is that now?

That's one thing I dislike about the TS fandom, that you're supposed to pledge allegiance to one or the other. Join a list and you can guarantee that someone will ask are you a Blair or Jim babe.

I admit that most people will have a preference, but does that mean just because you like Jim you have to dislike Blair? Of course not! Most fans know this, yeah, they'll say that they prefer whoever, but wouldn't think about pulling the other one down. I just don't get if you like TS that you can dislike one of the main characters.

How anyone can go onlist and list incidents that Jim was 'mean' to Blair just makes me think WTF. These are two *adult* men, they don't have to go round justifying their behaviour. They make mistakes, so what? So does everyone. Deal with it.
