I need a caffeine IV, seriously :(

Corey went back to school today and James back to work. Over the last 7 weeks I've been waking up at around 10, today I had to set the alarm for 7. I'll be used to the routine soon, but those first few days are hell. I need match sticks to prop my eyes up just now.

Didn't help that I had to spent all last night ironing Corey's uniform, and James's work shirts. I hate ironing with a passion, whoever decided creases were bad needs my foot up their arse.

Just been to deliver my mam's birthday present and gift and am now in a house that's deadly quiet, it's weird. So I'm going to make a huge cup of coffee, and then have three hours of uninterrupted computer time. Maybe put the Popodyssey DVD on as a background.

Well my plans to just sit and enjoy some quality time online have been soured after reading the posts in the latest anti slash kerfuffle.

I swear some people are nuts. Anti slash icons, do they really thing it'll make a difference? Also, does every person that bashes slash have to say that they know someone gay? It's like a condition of the anti slash rant along with 'I'm not homophobic but...'

We're writing about men or women having sex with someone of the same gender, that's all. There's no secret agenda to take over the world, we're not churning out coded stories designed to overthrow the het majority.

I write slash because I see it. I see subtext in all my fandoms. I also find the idea of two men together incredibly hot, others don't. So what? I'm not going to stuff what I think down their throats.

Fandom is a big place, there's room for everyone. Those that want het, gen, slash. People who are fans of Mary Sue's, darkfic, fluff, kink. You want a story about Jim and Carolyn, it's out there. You want Blair tying Jim up and making him call him Daddy it's out there too. There's millions of stories, no one needs to see things that they don't want to. So why the hell protest about something?

So you don't like slash. Don't read it, that's your right. But don't try and start a movement against it, because that's going too far.

I respect everyone's right to hold a view, even if it contradicts what I think. But if you start posting icons and rallying support, well it's at that point I'll turn, point and mock and remind myself yet again how stupid people in fandom can be.

LJ is slow tonight *kicks it*

You may have seen an entry earlier about a Choey that I tried. It's based on the drabbles I did for The Boyband 100 and I really don't know if it works. I hate when you first do a story in a fandom, will I be lynched if I don't have the characters together in the end ;) So I'm going to ask the people that offered to beta last time if they'll take a look. Problem is, how do I get the story to them? I think I'll have to go drop some comments in some LJ's.

But if anyone else wants to take a look at a poor faulty Choey just ask. There's something wrong with it but I can't put my finger on it.

Changed my layout again. I miss my pictures though. I may have to design a background so I can see them again.
