turps: (pretty chris)
We're home, obviously. After travelling so long I may never get up again as my hips seem to have seized up but at least I'm in front of my computer so that's okay.

I've had the most wonderful weekend. [livejournal.com profile] interlock's wedding was the most beautiful ever. She looked gorgeous both her and her J did, and the church was lit entirely by candle light creating the most fabulous atmosphere. I'd be lying if I said I didn't get teary eyed during the service because I totally did. Then it was off to the reception which was so much fun and where I drank far too many sloth cocktails. Creamy chocolaty goodness with some potent mix of alcohol that hit the spot very well. Apart from [livejournal.com profile] interlock I also saw [livejournal.com profile] nopseud again, who looked excellent in her boa and was introduced to [livejournal.com profile] giogio who's one interesting lady. Like all meetings like this it's just a shame we couldn't talk longer.

The hotel we stayed in was nice if very disorganised. We arranged an early check in but ended up checking in late leaving us an hour to get changed and to the church. We also got lost going to the reception and afterwards too, but that happens all the time so wasn't a big deal. So in all a wonderful day was had meeting up with fun people.

Today was all about meeting [livejournal.com profile] seiyaharris again and meeting [livejournal.com profile] simply_fly_away for the first time. After a flurry of calls and texts we eventually discovered each other standing in the same street and really those two girls are simply lovely, chatty, awesome people. Becca wrote me porn! and I read it sitting in the little fair ground and it was lovely with biting and just mmmmm, then Charlie read some out which was fun. After watching Corey on the rides we headed off for dinner where much talk was had about all things slash and where James innocently provided me with a huge laugh when he ordered a large hot one. Sounds innocent I know but I just looked at Charlie and you could tell what she was thinking, because she's got a dirty mind! Unlike me ;)

After dinner there was more fairground and Becca and Charlie took Corey on the Waltzer twice as they're insane, and Becca was scared. I have pictures to prove it ;)

Sadly we had to leave too soon due to the whole driving back home thing, so yes. This weekend has been just lovely in so many ways.

I haven't read any of the flist yet but have seen SeSas have been revealed so I guess I can talk about my story now. I was assigned JuC for [livejournal.com profile] beth666ann and ended with the story Living the Life that You Dreamed another AU to add to the pile. I did actually write a non AU first and in fact have a full JUC story based in the present day on my hard drive but after some advice I scrapped it and started again leading to the AU. The idea for the whole desert travelling camp thing settled in my mind and I went from there as I built up this world in my mind. I tried to convey how I see it and hope that worked. I just wish I'd left myself more time as there's so much more that could have been added to the story. Overall I'm satisfied though and Beth liked it so I guess it can be chalked up as a success.

So thanks are in order. First as always thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] interlock who despite being driven crazy with RL gave her time as often as I needed it as editor and general hand holder. [livejournal.com profile] satsuma77 who read JuC the first and [livejournal.com profile] nonchop who did the same and had the guts to say it could be a hell of a lot better and offered to either help fix it or help think of a new one. Obviously I took the second option. Thanks also to [livejournal.com profile] faemovana and [livejournal.com profile] _daysgoby_ who Britpicked for me.

SeSa has been a blast yet again this year, from talking stories with people, to getting sneak peeks to the final produce ( half of which I still haven't read ) has been wonderful and all that remains for me to do is thank Trixie for writing Stardust which I still love immensely.

Now I may tackle the old flist, anything interesting happen while I was gone?
