Aug. 13th, 2005 10:06 pmFor research purposes, does anyone know a product that will clean red paint off brick? It has to be cheap and available in the US too.
Today has been a busy one, including surviving the first shopping trip for Corey's uniform, which is always fun. First though we went to the country park. It's cool there, a series of paths and lakes on a reclaimed coalmine. The biggest lake had the cutest ducklings, tiny black things with yellow eyes and tufts on their head following the mammy duck. It was windy so they were bobbing up and down on the choppy water like crazy which was so funny to see. There was also swans and Canadian geese arranged over the lakes, honking and quacking to the wind. Then it was off to the playpark and an hour of pushing swings and watching Corey enjoy himself.
After that it started to bucket it down and storm, luckily we were in the museum/winter gardens at the time. Spending time looking at all the exhibitions then down into the gardens as the rain pelted down, drumming against the glass roof. After dinner in the cafe it was on to the uniform buying and amazingly we found school shoes in the right size as well as the trousers he needed. Now all we have to get is trainers then the school logoed polo shirts and jumpers from the school when it re opens. So yes, we've made a good start on the uniform buying so I'm quite content.
Yesterday my friend and her son came over. For the third time this week, you'd think the school were off and the kids bored or something *g* She was sitting at the computer with me while I was looking for that wallpaper and she so doesn't get the fandom thing at all. She also doesn't get why I'd go to Connotations and despite my best efforts at explaining still seems to think we're going to be sitting writing and getting up to naughty things together, and just no. She also lost major points for saying Chris was ugly. We've been friends since infant school, which is about 25 years now, so totally knows what buttons to push when she's teasing, and man, did she. That Chris is ugly, that Nsync have split up. At which point I ended up in the middle of this tirade about hiatus and challenge and getting together soon for a benefit concert and no they have not split. And then she said that they'd never get together again because Justin is too good for them, which is the point where she was nearly kicked out the door ;) Gah, friends, who'd have them!
