Sep. 20th, 2005 07:22 pmIt's been a busy weekend. Saturday we went clothes shopping for something to wear to my dad's partner's 60th birthday party which will also do for the moderately tidy dinner at Connotations. Talking of which, I have to be annoying and say, 10 SLEEPS!
Sunday it was dad's birthday, not that we celebrated as such. We just went to see him at nanna's and took a card then sat around talking for a while. To be honest I've spent most of my time reading. I've missed having a hand held so much, so to have Talliswood and Mysterious Ways and Book of Secrets etc at my finger tips is wonderful. Curled up in a blanket on the couch, or lying in bed in the darkness, fully in the world of the story you're reading. Even sitting on the church wall, waiting for Corey. I love my hand held so much. Especially today when I had a doctor's appointment at 2:30 which left me almost an hour to kill before picking up Corey. As there wasn't really time to go home I ended walking in the park then sitting under a tree reading Mysterious Ways, which was just perfect until a bunch of teens came to find conkers, which meant throwing sticks at the tree right next to where I was sitting. Not wanting to be taken out by a stick I moved to my usual spot in the church yard, under the bush on the wall and finished my story there in peace.
Which was good as I needed all the peace I could get, as coming home Corey made my world spin a little when he casually asked 'what's porn?' The thoughts flew through my mind, had he managed to uncover some of my hidden files on the computer, read something he shouldn't have? What?! So I made do with the old stand by 'why do you want to know?' To which he replied 'you know, porn. Like those white cracker things you get from the chinese takeaway' At which point my heart started to beat again when I realised he meant prawn crackers. *g*
Unrelated, Lia broke up with Kayliegh this weekend. They sent texts to one another saying they still loved each other but Lia didn't want to move up North and Kayleigh didn't want to move down South. Kay is gutted, especially as she was told by text message when she was at work. She cried and took all the pictures of Lia down and it's all so sad, and I know there's not a damn thing I can do to make her feel better just now, doesn't mean I don't want to try.
