Apr. 24th, 2006 12:41 pmI have to wish happy belated birthday to the most lovely
seiyaharris. She's cracked in the head, but also one of the loveliest people ever, even if she does do mean things in fic and not fix them! OMG! The baby! Happy birthday, honey. I hope you had a great day, you deserve it. *smooch*
Also, it was St George's Day yesterday, which means
pensnest has issued her dragon challenge. You know what popslash needs is more dragons, so go read Pen's post here and think about signing up.
It was a busy weekend, Corey's slightly better but still has no voice to speak of and a nasty dragging bad chest. He was supposed to go back to school today but he's still not ready yet. Tonight is his last cub meeting too before he moves up to scouts and he's going to miss it, but considering he can't really speak and gets tired really easily just now it would be stupid to send him. I'm hoping one more day of rest will bring him up to speed, or at least enough that he can go back to school.
Other than that, it was a bootsale yesterday. It was at the site near the ocean and it was just lovely, such a beautiful day. Sadly I burned the hell out of my arms. Every year I forget how sensitive I am to the sun and end up with that damn rash and all crispy which isn't good at all. Especially as I gave myself a blinding headache which I nursed by wrapping myself in a blanket and watching the new Sharpe with my boys. The second part's on tonight and I'm looking forward to seeing if the dashing Sharpe can save the day, which is a yes of course, but we need to see how. Josh, that's why I couldn't get online, sorry. Soon, okay? We made a nice profit at the sale, but used £10 of that buying stuff off the woman from the next stall. She was moving and didn't want to take anything home, so sold us what she had left, which was a lot. So we have a nice lot of stock for the next sale. One thing I did feel bad about. We were selling bags of wool for the MiL at 50p a shot. This couple asked how much it would be for the full box. I didn't know how much was in there so he counted and there were 8 bags. I told them £5 for the lot and they happily paid. It wasn't until later I realised I'd totally overcharged them, I felt so guilty.
Saturday it was a drive then a visit to the movies. We saw Eight Below and it was so good.
( cut for spoilers )
The night time was supposed to be watching Dr Who then a chat date, but that didn't happen as I had company until late. But that was fine as we talked and watched Strictly Dance Fever and got all wtf!? at the results before watching Dr Who when they left. My friend doesn't like Dr Who. Can you believe it? She hasn't a fannish bone in her body at all and is quiet perplexed at the things I enjoy.
I think that's the down and dirty update. I haven't read LJ/online for real since Thursday night so I need to catch up, I did poke my nose in for brief moments and each time ended up sending mails to people about things that pissed me off. It's official, I'm getting cranky in my old age. Also, Firefox let me down for the first time in ages. Session saver didn't work when Silver crashed and I lost all my tabs, weeks worth of stories. It's to cry I tell you.
But I have written nearly 3000 words of a trickyfish story that's lodged itself in my brain and won't let go. Notice how it's not the lambs which us due first. Challenges, how I love and hate you. Which is why I joined Pen's challenge of course.
