Jan. 30th, 2008 06:21 pmI'm the luckiest person ever because
lesasoja wrote me a sleeping Mikey ficlet complete with adorable Gerard which makes my heart sing with warm happiness. Thank you both!
James had a hospital appointment this morning, it was for first thing so we dropped off Corey at the school, which thankfully has a breakfast club, and were at the hospital for 9. His nerve test showed it may be his neck that's causing the clawing problem with his hand, but we won't know more about that until March, when he has an appointment with the neurologist. The hand doctor did have a suggestion though. They brought one of the head hand doctors in, and after a discussion it was decided it would be better if James gets his wrist fused again. Because his bones are feeble ( the doctors words ) they can't use a plate, but will instead insert a rod through his finger bones and up into his wrist, forcing it into a straighter position, which would allow more movement of his fingers, and hopefully less pain. So, it's a case of waiting for that referral now.
While I was waiting for James to have his x-rays I met a very cool guy. I always take a book with me because waiting in hospitals is boring, plus, I'm not a great casual chatter. But it was only this guy and me in the waiting room, and he obviously loved to chat, so the book was put away. He'd just had a cast off so was making these noises as he washed his arm for the first time in four months. Very suggestive noises, which he realised, laughed at, then told me a story about his case worker and how she made noises like that when eating chocolate. He then demonstrated those noises, very loudly *g* So we talked while waiting, and then he walked back to the other unit with us, and actually introduced himself with a handshake before we went. He was a lovely person to spend time with.
