Sep. 22nd, 2008 12:24 pmMy dad's party went really well on Saturday. We met up with my brother, his partner and their kids and were actually the first ones there. The pub was gorgeous, and because it was immediate family and friends only, they'd reserved a smallish room. But there was also picnic benches outside, plus a bouncy castle the kids could use. Hallie is 2, and when we got there the food was already set up, of course the first thing she did was run up to the table, grab the cake knife and stab it into the chocolate cake. But, a quick cover up and no one was the wiser.
I really enjoyed hanging out with them. I went for a walk with Hallie and bounced her on the castle, had some cuddles with Lewis, he's nearly one, and huge. Such a happy chubby baby. Dad looked happier than he has for a while, sitting with his friends and just listening and Corey played with his cousins until they left, when he went out and played with the other kids outside.
Of course nanna provided the WTF moments of the night. When the buffet opened she was one of the last up, and had to pass our table to get there. When she did so she patted my ass and said she hoped I'd left something for her. Then, later on we were sitting with my aunt and uncle, and she started asking if I was still going to the hospital about my weight problem, and really. Time and place.
Yesterday one of James' friends came to fix the kitchen light, and then we went out for dinner and did the main monthly grocery shop. By the time we got home my foot was hurting worse than it has for a while, and I just sat and had woe for a while. Also, I woke up this morning with a sore neck. I suspect James has been punching me in bed.
Probably because I made him watch the gay preview channel last night. Well, in truth, we were switching through all the porn preview channels and pretty much laughing at them all. I know attractiveness is subjective, but man, if I paid for those channels and got some of those people I wouldn't be impressed. What got me was the gay channel had this gorgeous couple on first, then they switched to this dodgy looking group in a locker room, grinding against each other while moaning about gushing cum shots, and yeah, even though it was verbal I know it was cum not come. It was just that kind of sentence. I was like, bring the pretty ones back!
