castalie announced we were passing on ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
sentinel_thurs. It's something we've been talking about and we decided that as we built it together, we'd only hand it on together, and the time was right.
We opened the community in 2003, so handing it over now is weird, like, no more sitting every second Thursday trying to think of a suitable prompt that hadn't been done before. And may I say, after 275 challenges, there wasn't much we hadn't used in some way. We never ran the community in a strict way, unlike most flashfic groups our members could post any challenge at any time, and in doing so we created a place that always felt relaxed, where many newbies posted their first stories and where some people posted multiple stories over the years.
For that, I'll always be proud, and we're going to make sure the community is passed on to the best person possible, someone who will ensure it thrives.
On a totally different topic. I was randomly surfing earlier and found a picture of Jon Walker that pretty much made me flail ( See )
( Which just reinforced that I have a thing for bassists. )
ETA: learning MTV has a sneak peek of the new MCR vid and then being denied due to where I live, so frustrating!
ETA2: I'm reading comments about Mikey bouncing, and that people in France and Australia have been able to see. My face right now? Like this >:(
