(no subject)

I didn't do any end of year memes because quite honestly I'd like to forget that most of the last half of the year happened. It was one thing after another with the end of year bonus being the night before Christmas eve mam came home drunk, fell off the front step and broke her leg. Not that we knew that at the time, I just all but carried her inside, eventually got her up to bed and then days passed. A week later she finally said she couldn't deal with the pain in her leg any more.

Nearly a full day at the walk in centre then hospital, and the fracture doctor sent her home in a double tube grip thing and crutches, but things are never that simple because after a day of saying the pain was still unbearable she phoned the hospital and was told she should have never been allowed to leave without a cast on and it was insinuated that she'd refused one, which is bull as I was in the room with her and the doctor recommended the bandage.

So she's off to hospital with my brother and sister today as James is in the middle of his night shifts. Which is why I was sleeping this new year, only waking up to watch the firework on the horizon as midnight rolled over.

I took down all the decorations yesterday, and actually got stuff put away. Though by put away I mean boxes sat in the spare room as only James knows the magic arrangement that gets them all back in the small cupboard. Thank you so much to everyone that sent cards and gifts. I loved them all and they helped make my Christmas extra special.

I think I may post a stuffsit rec post before reveals because I've read some incredible stories in the last few weeks, and am very happy about the amount of Frank/Mikey that's being posted \o/

ETA: I forgot to say, I got my picfor1000 prompt. My initial thought was some kind of rebirth and meeting always idea, but I've been swayed toward post apoc making out.

What Dreams May Come -- I love sperrywink's writing, enough thst I wasn't sure what story of hers to pick, this or her Mikey/Pete, Fumbling With the Blues series, but in the end went with this, which is Frank/Mikey and a really great read.

Ghosts in the Machine. by themoononastick Mikey/Pete. I love this story so much. As the summary says, Killjoys in space! An AU of an AU, in which Pete runs the bar at the end of the universe.. So much awesome, but if you do read, check the warnings first.
