Jun. 5th, 2013 11:41 amMy plans for today included watching Game of Thrones and Teen Wolf, sadly I've seen neither yet as I've been out most of the day.
James has been having issues with his legs all weekend, they'd swollen up, and he kept his false leg off for most of the weekend. Yesterday he put it on, but called work and told them he'd probably be going in with his wheelchair as it hurt to walk. Today he went in for his day shift, and was told he was actually on nights, and then one of the nurses on the staff checked his stump and said he needed to see his doctor as it looked infected. So, he did, and yeah, he's signed off until Monday and needs to sit with his legs up, and leg off when going out.
Thankfully the car is adapted for one leg driving, so he's not actually stuck in the house. Just needs someone to push him in his wheelchair when getting anywhere. By which I mean, me.
Mam also went for a hospital appointment today, and they suspect she has lymphodimia. Coming home she was joking I'd given her it, but I maintain it was her sucky genes that gave it to me, just they lay dormant in her for a long time. At least I could give her some tips on how to massage her legs to try and help the retention.
Yesterday we took nanna to the cemetery as it's granddad's birthday tomorrow and she likes to put flowers on his grave. She's walking better, but no way could she have walked to his plot, so we drove her there, and then I cleaned up his plot for her, pulling grass and arranging flowers. After visiting back at hers a while we came home and attacked the garden again, potting flowers, cucumbers, chills and planting the snowball turnips. Things are looking good out there, but my goodness, by the time I was done my leg muscles weren't happy at all. One thing, I was helping nanna back to the car, and she turned and said 'bye Jack, I hope you like the flowers, hope to see you soon to give you some in person' and just, man, she needs to not say stuff like that. I had the biggest lump in my throat, and yet, she loves him so much, and married granddad when she was a young girl then saw him off to war. So I do understand why she said it.
It's such a beautiful day today. Sunny and warm and I think I may go sit out there and read a while soon. Enjoy the place without having to do any work. That or depresse myself terribly with Game of Thrones. And ha, a day later and my choice was the second. Man, that show. I knew what was coming, but even so. Wow.
This morning has been tainted by my ex BiL who decided to post an anti gay marriage status on FB, which Kayleigh saw as she's on his friends list, and shared with a comment about how she was supposed to be seeing him at my niece's holy communion soon. He's a horrible person, I've never liked him, and like him even less now. My SiL has him blocked from her FB, and my niece never friended him, so I suspect he thought no one would see. Who the hell knows, he's an idiot. But what he ended up with was mam telling everyone in comments how he was arrested for picking up a prostitute and how he doesn't pay for his own kids, James blasted him in comments and in a private chat and many people saying what a vile person he is.
Instant reaction was to say we weren't going to go to Keria's holy communion now, as the thought of sharing air with him makes my skin crawl, but ultimately I love my niece and as she's so excited about the ceremony and party I'll go for her. Plus, Kay and Kay said we have to, otherwise he's the one who wins. But if he even thinks about speaking to me I'll tell him where to go.
I also watched Teen Wolf and enjoyed it. Welcome back cheesetastic show. You've been missed.
