Jul. 22nd, 2014 07:49 pmI've had good mail recently. Thank you so much
frausorge for the postcard, and to
spasticat for the gorgeous origami star that arrived today. Which you can see here. Isn't that beautiful?
While I'm sharing instagram photos, have two from the garden yesterday. The corn which has started to grow straggly bits and the beans which are growing at an insane rate, including into next door's chicken coop. Also, a photo from a few days ago when we had dinner at the beach. By which I mean we had chips sitting on the sea wall, but it was a beautiful day and just a lovely place to eat.
All photos are from my instagram which you're welcome to follow me on if you want to. Not that I post anything that exciting or photographed well tbh, usually the beach, my garden or a cat or two. But I do enjoy it on there, which includes looking at other people's photos too. It indulges my nosy side. Though on occasions I see too much, yes Kayleigh, I mean you, I now know more about my sister's kinks than I ever wanted or expected to.
It's been another gorgeous day today so I was hanging out in the garden earlier. I like sitting on the bench and looking at the plants while eating the peapods which are strategic growing within arms reach.
Tomorrow I'm off to the hospital with James. It's his last meeting with his surgeon and hopefully he'll be allowed to change his solid plastic splint for a fabric one which will be more comfortable. Though the plastic one has given him an amazing set of tan lines over his arm. Hopefully tomorrow will be his last hospital meeting, surgery wise at least. I can't remember if I said or not but he's decided he's having no more operations unless it's for something life threatening. He's just had enough, and I can't blame him. The last meeting we had at the hospital his surgeon said he had no idea why he'd suggested and put in the wrist joint from James' last big surgery because it was never going to do any good. Which, I guess is good he can admit mistakes, but at the same time, strengthens the idea that the doctor's don't really understand AMC enough right now. I'm sure that will change in the future, because even now their understanding is much better than it was when James was first born, but right now, stopping is the right decision.
BBBs start posting soon, I think so anyway. Sadly I realised there was no way that I could get something done for wave 3. Hell, at this point all I've written this year is one 1000 word story, which is just sad. I really need to change that, which yeah, I keep saying, but I do mean it. What helps is recently I've been getting some lovely comments on my stuff at A03. I've never kept it a secret about how much I love comments, so this little cluster of them has delighted me. Especially so as I got one on my The Fosters story, my little slave AU story that could. 10 Rules for Looking After Mikey Way has also had a recent run of kudos, which always surprises me as that story is so old, and was written so quickly.
Which brings me nicely to, I've been enjoying the photos Mikey and Kristin have been posting of themselves recently. I especially love this one. It's so pretty and sunshine filled, perfect to see in this weather.
