I got discharged from the physio on Thursday. He's happy the pain in my leg is almost all gone but suspects the numbness will remain for a good while yet. He finished by showing my an exercise when I have to be on hands and knees and then stretch out an arm in front of me, like I'm playing at Superman. Then he said in a few weeks I can build up to stretching my leg behind me. Or, I suspect, work up to that in a few years. Thankfully he didn't get me to demonstrate, I would have hated to end my physio time by falling off of the table.
Lasy week it was Uncle Andy's funeral. He was a station commander in the fire brigade so an engine was outside of the church and a row of firemen saluted him out. Then there was a lot of waiting in the cold outside of the crematorium because the conveyor belt got stuck in the funeral before.
After it was off for some food, where I got to catch up with my second cousin who astounded me by remembering Corey was named due to my favourite hockey player, something we'd told her over 19 years ago.
I saw Avengers. It was an early show and as we'd gone for a bit of shopping beforehand headed to the gallery part an hour before the show. It's our usual time frame, giving time to share some nachos and stash lots of pop in my bag while chilling before the movie. But this time we were the only ones there, and in fact had to wait in the bar a while before getting to go in and watch them fill up all the cabinets with popcorn. Spoiler, it's a messy business moving around that much popcorn.
No spoilers, just, I enjoyed the movie a lot, but not in a mega excited way. Like the end of Guardians of the Galaxy that had me on the edge of my seat.
Last week we also went for a walk and explore at Finchale Abbey. It was a beautiful day, sunny but not hot, and I really enjoyed walking along the riverside. Some photos behind the cut, and as always, apologies to those people who've already seen them on instagram. ( cut )
Ahhh, and Corey just shouted me to go in the kitchen and when I did he showed me two blue tits are using the bird box we have up. They're the first birds that have done so, and they're beautiful.
It's my opposite neighbour's 90th birthday today. Gertie is such a lovely lady so we dropped off a card and some flowers for her. She's always on the go, and in fact was telling us recently that she'd climbed up on her kitchen bench to wash the window and then couldn't get down until she attracted the attention of someone walking by outside.
After the day of rain yesterday it's sunny again today. It's also a bank holiday so I intent to hang out the washing and then do some writing and catching up of things.
