Today my plan is to get a big chunk of my MTYG finished as I have plans for the next three days and can't see much writing being done then. Thankfully there's already a significant amount done, so it's just a case of actually finishing. I did get a shock when I was reading my flist the other day and saw the reminder of how to post the bandom holiday exchange stories. Then remembered that one was actually finished apart from the editing. Really, mini nano is perfect for me in terms of getting stuff written, even those 100 word days add up.

We had such an amazing time at York. The Christmas market was perfect, and spread throughout the city so even away from the main market you came across little wooden huts tucked away in courtyards. I don't usually drink, and don't like wine, but enjoyed both mulled wine and cider, had a try of roast chestnuts, which were nice, but made perfect by eating them sitting in the middle of the bustling market, where it was cold enough for frosty breath and Christmas carols were being sung.

The second night we went to see the light show at the York museum gardens, and it was lovely. It was the first year they've happened, and some parts were a little underwhelming, especially so as tickets were £15 a person, though I got mine free as James' carer so the hit wasn't bad for us. However, some parts were beautiful, especially where they projected a light show onto the wall ruins, and the end where they had a field of fire and I got to try roasting a marshmallow over a fire-pit. Plus, we got to have our photos taken with Santa :D

That day we walked well over six miles, just wandering the market and gardens, and I was thinking about that, and how even last year neither of us would have managed a fraction of that. James' back remained pain free and while his other joints protested, he got through the day by having brief rests on occasions.

I won't put photos here, but if you'd like to see the ones I posted at Insta, multiple ones here and singles here, two here and one last one here

A few weeks ago I bought a dress from curveybellvintage. I've had my eye on it for a while, but couldn't justify the expense, then it was in the Black Friday sale, so I bought it. It arrived, and it was too big. I took photos of me wearing it, tried to justify to myself it looked okay, sent the photos to Kayleigh for a second opinion, and yeah, too big. It's an online only company, but I discovered based locally. So I messaged the owner and they agreed to doing a straight swap for a smaller size at the owners house. Which happened a couple of days ago, and now I have my dress.

This week I also sent the most adorable knitted sparkle deer by [personal profile] turlough. Seriously, it's fabulous and looks amazing with the rest of the herd. I was also sent the cutest penguin in a Santa hat ornament and cat tree ornament by [personal profile] sperrywink. Both of which look fabulously festive. I also got a card from [personal profile] saba1789 so thank you all ♥

Finally, a reminder about my card poll. The first batch has been sent, but I'll happily send more. Though any going to very far flung destinations may get there late now.
