Dec. 29th, 2018 10:30 amThank you to
msktrnanny,
spasticat,
eglantiere and
sylvaine for the cards ( sylvaine, the cover art for your card is adorable! ) and
dine for the postcard. It's always great to get cheerful mail and all your messages have made me smile a lot ♥
I'm frustrated that despite sending my cards before the last posting date only the ones in Europe have got there in time. I was feeling so satisfied with myself for getting them done and sent in time, too. Stupid post-office.
This amused me yesterday. We'd been half watching some show about penguins on tv while James was getting ready to go to work. I made some throwaway comment about the birds being in peril and James seriously said that penguins weren't birds. I looked at him, because, seriously? And when I said yeah they were, he said no they weren't as they didn't have feathers but fur instead. At which point Alexa was brought into it and she was asked, are penguins birds? Yes. Do penguins have fur? No. Honestly. As he's generally an intelligent grown man I'm going to say he was having a brain blip while distracted, but even so. Penguins are birds, James!
In good news. Our new car is nearly here. Motability lease you a new one every three years and ours was due at the beginning of the month, but was delayed and has been on a slow boat from South Korea for weeks now. But it's in the country and is now being registered and fitted with the adaptations and should be with us in the next week or so. I'll miss Jaffa but I'm sure we'll love Clementine, too.
It's blowing a hoolie here and as it's the first bin collection after Christmas the estate is full of bin bags flying everywhere. I've just had to go out and rescue one of ours which looked like it was about to blow over to Lidl, so I've jammed it next to the bin and left the rest in the garden for a tip run on Monday. Apart from bringing in the bin later I intend to do nothing else today but some house stuff and catch up on some reading.
