Jan. 30th, 2020 05:38 pmThank you
turlough for the birthday gift that arrived today. I've been good and put it to one side, but am looking forward to opening it in a few weeks ♥
This morning I got feedback for Shades of Truth saying I must have predicted the future as the summoning video reminded them of my fic. Which is such a lovely compliment, that someone remembered such an old story, especially as it was rare pair. Though another thought was, it's a good job I can't predict the future via fic. If so bandom people would be running scared.
I have new Picard to watch which I'm looking forward to, also two episodes of Prodigal Son and three of Party of Five. Honestly, this RL needs to stop for a while and give me some dedicated tv watching time.
The funeral went as well as it could today. It was a Catholic church service but a shortened one so didn't last overly long. The wake was held in the actual room our wedding reception was, which prompted some nice memories but also sad ones thinking of those that had gone since then. The food was buffet style and nice enough and I enjoyed meeting up with people, though it's sad that we only see the extended family on that side at funerals. I have to admit, though, I was glad to get out of there because even though it wasn't someone I personally grieved, and the wake full of people chatting about old times, the underlying sense of loss was still very apparent.
