Oct. 26th, 2021 09:30 amI saw Dune at the weekend, and enjoyed it a lot. Despite the long running length, the time flashed by.
We also did what may be the last visit to my MiL's house. James was a little sad as it was his childhood home, but as he said, it's just a shell now. Seeing it all stripped back shows just how bad of a condition it had become. The ceiling has fallen in in the kitchen, bathroom and one of the bedrooms. The front door isn't secure at all, it's damp, cold and just generally sad looking now. With work, it will be a lovely family home again, but the developer has a hard job in front of him.
We also brought back what's, hopefully, the last things from there to ours. I have to be honest, most have been shoved in the spare room to sort out later. Though, I did leave the pretty glass hen on the kitchen windowsill.
We've booked to stay overnight in York at the end of the week and have sorted out the hire of an electric scooter for my MiL. When we initially mentioned the idea she said 'we'll see' which as any parent knows, pretty much means, yeah no, not happening. But in this case, has happened. I'm already a little overwhelmed at practicalities as her mobility is so bad. So, having the independence of the scooter will be a huge help even if it will just be for the day. She can use them btw, and has often done so. I suspect it was a case of her thinking she was being a bother arranging it, when the reality is, it's taking off pressure doing so.
We're picking her up tomorrow afternoon, so today I'm having a quiet day, James is at work, so it's just me and the cats. Christmas films as background watching as I store up some peace before days of hosting and being out of my usual routines.
Kayleigh and Bodhi visited yesterday and I got good auntie points by not handing Bodhi back when she was crying but also soothing her to sleep. Milo wasn't impressed though. He's never really seen a baby before as Corey was older when Milo arrived, so this tiny noisy thing was a bit of a shock. He was interested in the baby car seat and gave both it and Bodhi a good sniff, but once she started to cry he took off upstairs.
I've much love for the new ( Hawkeye poster )
Kate! Lucky! Clint! Please let it be good. Though I'm sure I'll enjoy it regardless.
I've also been enjoying the comments on Insta about The Black Parade being 15. It's still my favourite album of theirs and reminds of such great fannish memories. I like this behind the scenes shot of TBP uniforms and Gabe commenting to Mikey.
Simply Cats, our vet, are collecting photos for next years calendar. I've decided to go for the two behind the cut, but may try to get one of Milo being all awesome and tripaw'dy too as I've no clear ones that would do for the calendar.

dine always posts excellent links and the other day she posted heartwarming pictures of cats being rescued by firefighters I loved that collection of pics and in a reply to my comment Dine said she knew I'd like it, and yes, yes I did. Which is why I'm sharing it too.
