My day didn't end how I expected yesterday.

Late afternoon I realised I had a deep cramp in my right calf, did the online 111 thing and realised I should go get it checked out. Headed to the nearest walk-in, and left over 6 hours later.

The first three hours were spent at the minor injuries unit where it was eventually decided that it wasn't cellulitis but they wanted to rule out a blood clot. But the blood test to investigate that could only happen in the casualty unit.

Thankfully that was literally the next department across, and despite being told it was a 5-hour wait I was actually seen pretty fast and then had to settle in for another two-hour wait as they ran the test. I was talking to the nurse practitioner who did the test and they said it would be five hours if I needed to see a doctor, but if not it would be much faster.

Anyway, I'm fine, nothing bad at all in any of the tests that were ran so they decided it must be muscular. Though typically, I was reading Facebook while waiting and one of my lymphoedema groups had someone ask if others got cramps in their calves and a lot of people said said that yeah, and often it was due to dehydration and that affecting the lymph affected limbs. So it could also be a lymphoedema thing. Whatever it is, it's not a blood clot, which is the important thing.

Of course, both my MiL and James are fretting, understandably due to my FiL dying due to a clot. And I have instructions to rest today, even though I feel fine apart from an aching leg.

As it was after 11 when we left the hospital my MiL said it was pointless going to get her and she'd stay at ours another time. Which is fair enough even though James would have went for her after work today. Especially so as I have enough food in for three people.

So yes, an unexpectedly quiet end of the year for me it seems.
