Oct. 16th, 2004 12:02 pmWe had to buy a new Norton yesterday as the cost of buying new software was less than renewing the firewall and virus subscription. So, I installed it and as per usual something went wrong. Fast forward two hours later when I finally found out how to give myself admin privileges so I could uninstall and start again when James phoned asking if we wanted to go out for dinner. Did I? Hell yeah because if I'd stopped in that room a second later Silver would have had my foot through his screen.
We went to a new all you can eat buffet which we found out had only opened yesterday, which meant there were very few people there. In fact the staff out numbered the customers when we first arrived. But we had a great time and the food was good, even if I hate going to the buffet as I always think people are counting how many time you go up and what you get. But yes, it was good and followed by a drive down the coast in the dark. Then when we got home I went to bed and let James fix Norton, he came to bed later and wouldn't shut up about how many files are on the computer *g*
This morning I checked mail and had no messages, which I knew was wrong so figured I needed to set up the pop account again, did that and 4000 mails plus started to download. I eeped a bit, stopped that and went to the web based mail site and deleted the mails manually from there before they could be mailed across again, all 4000 of the things. It became a bit of a game in the end, seeing how many could be deleted before the send receive went again. Oh, and
interlock I found your reply to my Whitby mail in the bulk folder, just in case you thought I'd blown you off. I also found a load of replied to questions I asked at e-bay, people I was cursing out for not answering *blush* Did that, forwarded the ones I needed to answer and still no mails in my in-box. Which is when I discovered Norton decided that LJ comments are spam and puts them into a special folder ... sigh.
However, it seems okay now *crosses fingers*
James says to thank you all for your comments about his first story *g* He was so funny, wanting to know what people said. I mentioned the violence was a problem but he explained that by saying it was all some kind of male pissing contest and JC was asserting his alpha state. At the same time he was telling me this we were side by side with another car full of guys at the traffic lights, revving the engines and inching forward, so the macho bull was rife. Jules, I told him that you said there was no love and he said there wasn't supposed to be, it's all about sex. Which yeah. I thought I'd leave it at that. However he did say he might write again in the future so be scared.
I had a most excellent mail day yesterday with a DVD I was waiting for and random mail from
