May. 16th, 2005 01:41 pmMost important. Happy belated birthday to two special ladies.
call_me_loca and
patchworkdragon I hope you both had great days. Today is the birthday of two more special ladies.
northernveil and
spasticat. I hope it's a great one for you both. *hugs you all in a great big group snuggle*
James is back at work today, which means normal routine is restored. No more using my, mine, all mine no one else is allowed to use it the computer and making me all sad when I couldn't. We seem to have spent the last week being busy yet have nothing to show for it, it's weird. We did
Saturday we ended at the beach. The SiL is down at her in laws right now so we took the MiL and FiL out with us. We didn't go far, just to South Shields beach and even then we stayed pretty much in one place as the MiLs walking is so bad she can't go far. The day was okay like most days with the in laws are. There's much talk about the SiLs pregnancy which brings up a whole load of new issues. Mostly ones beginning with 'it's not fair' but I know those are petty and everything to do with me and not her. Except, man. How she expects to bring up a two year old and a baby in the hovel she lives in I don't know. But this is me shutting up now *zips lips*
Yesterday we went to one of my favourite places, the ford at Stanhope. It's deep in the countryside and it's just gorgeous. Rolling hills and beautiful scenery and fresh air. It was busy at the ford so James stayed with his mam and dad while Corey, the dog and I had a walk down to the river. It was so tempting to have a plodge but I restrained myself as there were loads of cars coming through and knowing my luck I'd get soaked by one. In fact I did get caught in a wave later but some nifty footwork meant only my feet got wet. Weird thing was my doctor was there, the one that gave me the slimming tablets. She was the last person I expected to see. Then we got back into the car again and headed onto the moors. You just climb and climb, going so high and cattle grids mean the sheep roam free. So sometimes they're just standing on the road staring at you. Oh, and it's lambing season so there's all these lambs, tiny and woolly with black faces or tails and they're just so cute. Which makes James' decision to stop at a farm shop and get some lamb chops just wrong. I don't know, it just didn't seem right to be watching the lambs and have the in laws and James discussing how they get slaughtered. It was the same when we saw the most beautiful cows. They were freshians (sp?) but instead of black spots they had grey ones and they were so pretty. Of course when I mentioned that the others decided they'd look better on a plate surrounded by yorkshire puddings and roast tatties...sigh. We bought free range eggs while we were out and tatties from the place where they leave bags full on the wall and you leave the money in a tub. It was gorgeous, I've missed that place.
Of course while I was there I was planning my moors AU again, because it's not like I have enough of them on the go.
Today, I've been doing the badges for Corey's cubs jumper. I used badge stick and it was so easy. If it wouldn't have got the tube stuck to my lips I would have kissed the stuff. So yeah, no more sewing for me. A few dabs of badge stick and it's done. No fuss at all. If only everything in life could be so simple.
I saw Incomplete on Saturday too and was so annoyed when they ran credits over it at the end. My sister and her friend saw it too and they both said they like it, considering they both dislike boybands I'm hoping it's a sign that it'll do well. The boys are promoting in London soon and I'm so tempted to go down, I'm sure I could hang out and be a groupie with the best of them ;)
Dr Who made me cry like the sappy sap that I am. I see they're bringing the DVDs out but I think I'm going to hang on because there's sure to be a box set. I hope so anyway. There better be because I want it.
Lambs day story? Feh.
To end have a meme, I mean I haven't done one for all of two days *g*
ell me something you'd like to see in my life. Can be just about anything as long as I can take a photo of it with my digital camera. I'll post your request later.
My camera crapped out on me last time I did this so if you have a burning desire to see anything feel free to ask. I'll do my best to show you. And now I'm going on a codec hunt, because when I finally get a chance to watch Numb3rs I find that I have video and no sound, which makes a change from the no video but sound thing at least.
