I'm suffering from lack of sleep today. Which is totally my fault as I didn't go to bed until nearly two. For which I blame Nick/Greg. I'm just so into crime shows right now, and last night I ended up reading through a few comms because Nick/Greg are just lovely together. Well, to be honest it's Greg that's stolen my heart, a few days ago I ended up at a Greg/Hodges comm and ended up reading story after story. Actually, I'm not sure if I've already admitted that. Oh well, if I did you can mock me twice over.
I do get the feeling that Nick/Greg are the JuC/Joshtin of the CSI fandom. Some of the stories are great, the majority are painful. I want to know who these sappy cry babies are who've stolen Nick and Greg's names, because man, they're no one I know.
Moving neatly on. It's JuC day soon. Now I haven't actually started anything for JuC day and I want to, even if it's something short. Problem is, one. No ideas. Two. Time is tight right now. But, I thought of a solution. I've the start of a story sitting on my hd. It's the last porn challenge thatvaudevilles gave me and it can easily be made into threemanbus. Which yeah, isn't JuC so I won't post at the comm, but enough for me to know I've done something for the day. Anyway, JuC is always better with added Chris ;)
James and his man flu suffering self went to work today. Normally he would have taken a sick day but he's already got time off for next week, so taking time now too wouldn't have been good. Instead he phones me on every break to tell me he's dying.
Next week. Camp Sparkle is next week!ninjetti75 is also coming to stay with me next week. He's going to spend a few days here then we're driving to CS together. I have so much joy at that prospect Also much eeeeeping for I am nothing if not painfully self conscious and socially inept But mostly joy because some of my favourite people in the world are going to be there, and I haven't seen them since last summer which is far too long.
For all you people asking this, have the answers to the friend meme. I'd love to answer you all individually, but I have comments to answer and porn to consider.
1. Can you cook? -- Though my immediate answer is no, I actually can cook. I'm just not any good. I get horribly distracted and tend to burn stuff. But I've never poisoned anyone yet.
2. What was your dream growing up? -- Like many little girls I wanted to be a nurse.
3. What talent do you wish you had? -- I wish I could speak a second language. Sadly I'm stuck still struggling with my native one.
4. Favorite place? -- The beach. There's something special about the ocean.
5. Favorite vegetable? -- I like broccoli, especially the little sweet florets.
6. What was the last book you read? -- It was The Yorkshire Pudding Club. An entertaining enough book but it drove me nuts by changing POV randomly in the middle of paragraphs. Sometimes for only a few sentences.
7. What zodiac sign are you? -- Aquarius.
8. Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? -- Just my ears.
9. Worst Habit? -- I can procrastinate like a pro.
10. Do we know each other outside of Livejournal? I know some of you. Others no, and even more others, I soon will.
11. What is your favorite sport? -- Ice hockey. *mourns her Wasps*
12. Do you have a Negative or Optimistic attitude? -- Optimistic mainly. There's always a silver lining somewhere, even if it's buried deep.
13. What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with me? -- Probably stand in the corner and feel awkward.
14. Worst thing to ever happen to you? -- Cheery question or what?
15. Tell me one weird fact about you. -- I can touch my toes, hands flat to the floor. Which isn't weird in itself, but looking at me you wouldn't think I could do it.
16. Do you have any pets? -- I do. A dog, two cats and many tropical fish.
17. Do you know how to do the Macarena? -- Yes. However, dancing it is another matter.
18. What time is it where you are now? -- It's ten past two in the afternoon.
19. Do you think clowns are cute or scary? -- Clowns are THE TOOLS OF THE DEVIL!
20. If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be? -- Drop about a thousand pounds and I'd be happy.
21. Would you be my partner in crime or my conscience? -- I'd love to say partner but fact is, I'd be the conscience. I have problems breaking rules, because I'm just that boring.
22. What color eyes do you have? -- They're blue.
23. Ever been arrested? -- Nope.
24. Bottle or Draft? -- If you mean beer, neither.
25. If you won $10,000 dollars today, what would you do with it? -- Pay off some debts then hit the shops.
26. What kind of bubble gum do you prefer to chew? -- I hate bubblegum. What's the point? You chew and it's not even real food.
27. What's your favorite bar to hang at? -- I haven't been to a bar for years.
28. Do you believe in ghosts? -- Nope.
29. Favorite thing to do in your spare time? -- Read, either a book or delicious boy love.
30. Do you swear a lot? -- Nope. I have a weird thing about swearing. Some common swear words I just don't say. Not that I'm shocked when others do, just, they're not for me. I do like fuck though. It's a good word. Not that I pepper my sentences with it. Man, yes, I really am the most tame and boring person ever!
31. Biggest pet peeve? -- Real world or fic? In reality, littering. How hard is it to put rubbish in the bin? It's not at all. In fic. OMG! Stop with the Josh already!!
32. In one word, how would you describe yourself? -- Safe.
33. In one word, how would you describe me? -- Stars! The lot of you. You're all my shining stars. *smooch*

It is and they are. I've fallen so hard for CSI and Nick and Greg are love. At first I was all about Greg because he's wonderful and cute and just.... I have no words to say how happy he makes me. *flails* But Nick is sneaking up fast, his smile and his accent and man, I'll stop gushing some time soon.
I want to know where all the good writers are too. I'm used to popslash where I can point to dozens of them, and they're all at hand for when I need a fix. CSI is walking into a scary unknown place full of utter wrongness.
I've exhausted my CSI icons now. Clearly I need more.

He's this big burly Texan and he's a CSI and possibly he was once a cop but I think maybe I imagined that lol and he's fiercely loyal and the only time he ever slept with a girl it ended really badly and he's so cute and people call him 'Nicky' and it's not ironic or demeaning. It's affectionate and 'Rick and Cath and Grissom call him it and it's like, it's like his mum and his dad and his big brother and he needs taking care of and it's jsut beautiful. I love him so hard. However, he is not an emotional wreck and prone to crying at the drop of a hat. lol
I have one more CSI icon, it's my misguided OT3 icon (Greg/Nick/Grissom lol)

I enjoy all the pairings and will happily read them all. It's just, if Chris is involved it's a 1000 times better. When I first came into fandom I was all about trickyfish, but then I branched out and discovered that trickc was home for me.

No, but see. They're the oldest and they've got a lot in common. They're the ones that have seen real life before being thrust into the showbiz circuits. They balance each other, JC's one tough guy when he wants and he's able to deal when Chris is being all bitter and pissy. They're friends , and their families spent thanksgiving together a few years back and they love each other! They're lobsters and I'll shut up before I look any more tin hatty *g*
