I have a new cat. I have two new cats in fact.

James' work has an internal notice board, and someone needed good homes for her cats. She was moving to a new house where pets weren't allowed, so wanted to know if anyone would take them. I wasn't sure. One, I had my heart set on another rescue cat. Two. After what happened with Moffet did I deserve another cat. Three. She didn't want to split them up.

But, they desperately needed a home, and we had room in our hearts for them.

We went to see them yesterday, and they're gorgeous. The lady was broken hearted at losing them, but I told her we'd treat them well, and send pictures so she knows they're happy.

They're both black and white. Milo is a boy, he's got a long snout and is really heavy. He also friendly, curious and very laid back. Already he's got stuck behind the fish cupboard and thinks he's at home. Tinker is a queen, and is very quiet. She hasn't moved much, right now she's sitting on the corner of my desk and has been there all day, but I know she'll come around in her own time.

Tex is rather bemused, and Freesia made a point of turning her back on them. I think they'll be okay though. I hope so. In a way it feels too soon to have another cat, and if they weren't desperate for homes I wouldn't have got one yet. But they were, and they're gorgeous. So we're now a three cat family. I'm in danger of turning into a crazy cat lady.

Corey is at his school camp right now, so James and I have been spending some time out together. We decided to head to the cinema to see some of the higher rated films we never get to see. We ended up seeing Fantastic Four which is a PG. We couldn't help it. The plan was seeing it when Corey comes home, because he wants to see it too. But when we got there, the pull was too strong. Super heroes! We had to go see it.

Talking of which. I was at the Metro Centre today and found the Mutant X season 3 box set, and I want! But it's £80, which no way can I afford. But still. *grabby hands*

turps33. It feels like I've told this story a thousand times, but my nickname is turps. My brother started it. Terri = ter = turpentine = turps. The 33 is because I used to belong to a load of e groups and someone was already using turps, so I added on random numbers and became turps33. I've been that ever since.

I don't actually have a title. I have no imagination. Someone needs to think of one for me.

Them. I know! I suck.

I've only ever had two defaults, and have had this one for years. It's Chris! With braids and braces! Which is hot as hell! I think the icon sums up the fannish me nicely.

I understand about meaning to wait a little before getting a new cat but I'm glad you decided to take them in. Isn't there a word for stuff like that? Serenpidity or something? You lost your cat and they lost their home... you can't argue against fate, right?

I can't wait to hear about the life of Terri & Milo and Tinker *g* And, btw, I just love the fact that one of them is called Milo :-)

Thanks for saying that. I guess I knew that there was no reason I couldn't have a new cat, but at the same time. The way Moffet died still leaves me feeling guilty.

You're right. You can't. It did seem to fall into place amazingly well and I like to think it was meant to be.

How was Fantastic 4? I enjoyed the first one [it's not brilliant cinema but that guy can run around nearly naked AS MUCH AS HE WANTS, humina humina!]. And a very happy new cats to you.

I loved it! Like you said, the series isn't great cinema, but it kept me entertained all the way through with no checking out of my watch. We're going to see it again, so I'd totally recommend the film.

That is true. I guess I was looking at rescue cats as ones from a pound, but they're not that at all.

I think it's lovely, that just when these two cats were in need of a home you were able to provide them with one! (I'm very grateful landlords can't prevent people from having pets here in Sweden, I don't think I could ever contemplate moving if I risked having to give up Lancecat!)

Awww, hurrah for new cats! I'm sure Fresia will come around in short order. After all, SHE is now Head Cat with Tenure, and I'm sure she'll make sure these newcomers know so. (just don't let her bully them into giving her their lunchmoney, greedy!guts Fresia. ;p ) I love Milo being at home already, stuck behind the fish. That's hilarious, unless he's hiding back there because he's nervous. But I'm sure they'll both come fully around in no time; cats are very adaptable. I also suspect they'll realize Fresia and Tex are missing Moffet, as her scent will still be everywhere of course, and they'll be aware of the other animals' emotional states.

Fresia really does think she's head cat now. I don't think she's eating their food but can't be sure. They don't eat straight away like Fresia and Moffet did, but they seem fine so I'm not worried.

I think Milo is just a little bit stupid, and also amazingly curious. He tries to climb the door frames, has been on every shelf in the house, has rummaged in the cupboards and has now decided Tex's bed is perfect to sleep in. Tex gets the floor now *g*
