It's our visit to the big school tonight. We go to meet Corey's new form teacher and order his uniform. He's looking forward to it, especially getting a chance to sample a school dinner. While I'm talking about Corey. He got his SAT results back. All 5s which is awesome. I'm so proud of him. He also got a glowing report from the headmistress. She was one of his first teachers before she was promoted, so she's been there from the start. I'm going to miss that school.

Anyway. Question meme. Behind the cut are questions from Dine, Bellamyrose, Msktrnanny and Clumsygyrl.

Questions from Dine.

1. what jewellery do you wear regularly? -- I wear three rings, my watch, a cross necklace and usually hoop earrings. I wear the cross because I like the look of them, I'm not religious at all.

2. can you whistle properly? -- I can. Though I've always wanted to be able to whistle loud. James can do the fingers in mouth and blow like crazy thing, making a really loud whistle. I'm quite jealous.

3. (grossly stereotyping British takeaway) do you prefer fish&chips, Indian or something else? -- My favourite is Chinese. I'm not that keen on fish. I'll eat fish fingers and stuff, but the thing is, actual fish has bones and skin, and I can't be doing with that. I hate any food that has bones or bits in. So yes, Chinese. I usually get chicken chop suey. So nice.

4. if you could have any car in the world, what would you pick? - -See, I can't actually drive, so any car I'd get would end up undriven by me. To be honest, I know little about cars. Just they have four wheels and an engine.

5. name your favourite ice cream flavour -- Anything chocolate. Ice cream has to have chocolate in. I love the luxury ice creams. Hagan Daze and Ben and Jerrys. Give me a pot of that and I'm a happy bunny.

Questions from Bellamyrose.

1. What's your favorite breakfast food? -- Toast. Toast is good. With toast you can have beans on toast, or scrambled eggs on toast. Or I love tomatoes on toast, sprinkled with vinegar. Just yum.

2. Favorite drink? -- Pop wise it's Diet Coke or Pepsi Max. I don't care which one. Actually I like most coke products. But I hate the fake stuff. You know those cheap bottles that say they're cola but aren't at all. They're nasty. Hot drink wise. I'm into hot chocolate at the morning. I have a cup every night once Corey is in bed.

3. What's you favorite website and why? - Live Journal. You can find anything on here. If I ever get an urge to read something, search the comms and it's usually there. Top Gear slash? There's a comm. Want to know about a tv show. There's a comm. Plus, there's some awesome fic posted on LJ, and most of all. Some of my favourite people in the world are on here.

4. A repeat, but if you could choose any time period or any fictional setting to vacation or live in, what would it be and why? -- I want to go into the future. When space travel is the norm. I want to go at warp speed and see other planets. Talk to the people in distant galaxies, because they're out there. I want to see how civilisation has changed, if we go the Trek route of no money and a federation of planets, or if we've reverted to a more hostile time. With wars and boundaries, a world where technology rules to the deferment to the human race.

5. Favorite color? -- Yellow. It's sunny and bright.

Questions from Lesasoja

1. What's your favorite shape of pasta? -- I like the spirals. They look fun. Plus, less surface area to prise off the pan if you burn them.

2. Do you now or have you ever owned a lava lamp? -- I do! Many in fact *g* Lets think, I have two big ones and numerous small ones. I have lava lamp pens, and night lights and a glittery pink one that is powered by my computer. Because my friends are awesome and crazy and I love them muchly!

3. Which Chris hairstyle would you most like to bring back? -- The bunches! My love for that style knows no bounds. He looked awesome in them!

4. What words or phrases or slang stand out to you in fic as being particularly American?-- Interesting question. When I first started to write, I always got hung up on got. It gets easier to remember the big things, for example, sidewalk for pavement etc, but the form of sentences still gets me at times, which includes got. When I get betas back, KC often tells me that while the sentence is right, it's phrased wrong, which is something I can't seem to put right just yet. Oh, and if you want actual words. Fanny kills me, because fanny has such a different meaning here, so if someone sits on their fanny my mind goes in weird directions.

5. Do you consider Kevin/Chris to be a crossover pairing or intrafandom? -- Crossover. While popslash is an all encompassing label, it's something that covers two separate fandoms imo. While there are fans who're active in both, most stick to one side or the other. Which I think is a shame.

Questions from Msktrnanny.

If your ultimate fanfic scenario has not been realized, what is it, who do you think should handle it? If it has, give me a link and tell me why it's your ultimate. -- What I'd love to see is a long plotty trickc. Starting in euro years it would span their friendship, taking time to explore how they interact together, with a slow build up to attraction then love. All the other guys would feature heavily, while also getting on with their own lives at the same time. ( No the whole group is gay in this story )

While the story would be trickc, the other friendships would be important too. Chris would go do stuff with Justin. JC would meet his friends, just living their lives with the growing relationship being a part of them, and not the whole focus. Which I've probably explained badly, but I know what I mean.

They wouldn't have pet names, and in fact would still argue and get pissed off at one another at times. But there would be hand touching and brief touches as they went about their days. It would take them years to get to the actual sexin up stage, because this is a story of love built on friendship. Sex scenes would be good, but so would kisses and just being there for one another. Lots of hugs and love.

As it's me some h/c would be a good addition. It doesn't have to be anything that bad, just Chris with a cold and JC bringing him hot drinks and tissues. Just a small scene in their lives.

One day they'd wake up and realise that they've been living together for almost a year so they celebrate with pizza and beer and these strange things JC found in this little store, which taste weird and crunch between their teeth, but they eat them anyway just because. Then they'd head off to the studio, heads together as they work on songs and music and they'd just be happy together.

You write me that! Or if you can't, I think Pierson could make that story sing, as could Donna. She does long and plotty well.

2. Recast The Young Riders using sparklies. Convince me of your choices. [okay, not an actual question, but I don't care.]

Chris -- Teaspoon. Likes to drink and can be rough at times, but very loyal and caring to those in his care.
JC -- Buck. Gentle and spiritual but also determined and fierce. Can hold a grudge and fought to find his place in the world.
Joey -- Sam the lawman. Likes the boys and Emma, and sticks to the law.
Lance-- Lou. Has to disguise herself to be accepted, but is strong capable and determined to get on in life.
Justin -- Cody. Cody is all about image and wanting people to see him. I think Justin is more sensitive at times, but still, he's all about the fame and making people look his way.
Kevin -- Emma.Looks after 'her' boys, to the extent it's a little overbearing at times.
Howie -- Ike. Has a heart of gold and you know if Howie couldn't talk he could communicate through winking ;)
Brian -- The Kid. Someone who knows what he believes and sticks to that.
AJ -- Jesse James. Because he's always fighting to stay on the right track.
Nick -- Hickok. Falls for the wrong women, quick tempered at times. Loyal to a fault.

3.What's your idea of a Utopian situation? -- I miss read that as civilisation at first, and was ready to give you my thoughts on how the world should be *g* Okay, situation. First, I'd be in a place I love. I was going to say the beach but you know what I'd love? To be back at one of the hockey games I attended. The Wasps were down 5-1 to the Seahawks but in the last period pulled the game level. Then we won the cup via penalties. I want to be watching those penalties, with all my friends and family at my side, drinking in that atmosphere as the buzzer sounded to end the game. If that's too specific, on the beach, a warm day, icy cold coke at my side. Good friends to chat to, random hugs just because, my family close by, and half the size. If I've misread the question wrong totally, sorry!

4. How does your mam's lifestyle affect how you deal with her in regards to Corey? -- Not offended at all. I look at mam as two different people. When she's not drinking she's one of the nicest people ever, and I don't hesitate to let Corey go to see her alone. But since he was born I've never allowed him to be alone with her if she's had a drink, even one.

I made a vow that he'd never deal with the stuff me, Kay and Chris have, and the only way to do that is to limit contact or be there to make sure she doesn't go too far. He has seen her when she's drunk, with us living so close she often drops in on the way home, and in those cases it's a case of staying close and running interference. Plus of course he's heard the times she's been hospitalised and sometimes she'll call on his mobile, which annoys me, but in those cases I'll take over the call. I'm used to being hung up on.

I'll take any of the crap she throws my way, but she'll never do it to him. The first time she says anything negative specifically to him is the day we're done. It'll break my heart but there's no hesitation about who'd I'd put first.

I was his age when things started to fall to pieces, and he's not going through that. I've shielded him every way I can. He knows his nanna loves him, but he also knows she has a problem. He'd have to be blind and deaf not to. What he doesn't know is how bad it's got on occasions and hopefully he never will.

Mam has a lot going for her. I love her and don't want to deprive Corey of having a nanna, and I won't. But I'm also ready to step in at any time and say that's enough, we're done. Which is something I doubt I'd do for me, but for him. Yeah.

5. When are you coming to the States so I can see you on my home turf and show you, James and Corey around Disney World? -- As soon as I lose enough weight so I don't have to buy out a row in the plane to sit and can fit into the rides, I'm so there.

Questions from Clumsygyrl

1. Who would make the better father - Justin or Chris? Why? -- Oh man, just the thought of Justin as a father makes me want to laugh. On one hand he'd be the best dad ever. His kid would want for nothing, and would have 89788902683 itty bitty pairs of sneakers before it was ever born, and he'd have an elaborate tattoo saying Lyntin Timberlake stretched across his back. But at the same time, he'd have a nervous breakdown as the kid touched stuff. He'd be following with disinfectant in one hand and a cloth in the other. I think Chris would make a great dad. He needs to grow up a little first, but I think he could do that easily. He just doesn't see the need right now.

2. Next celebrity to be caught with a sex tape? -- I want it to be Lance. Because I want to see if fangirl squee could really destroy the world. Who do I think it could really happen to? Britney. With Justin! That would make me happy!

3. How would you describe your fandom love? -- I don't think I have the words to describe it. My love for the popslash fandom keeps on growing. It's made of interlocking pieces, friends, fic, footage, songs, and they're linked together, getting stronger all the time.

4. If you could put together the perfect man using qualities from different people (real or otherwise) in your fandom(s) what would they be? -- I'm sorry, it's a cop out and predictable, but physically, Chris does it for me every time. Especially euro times. I'd tame some aspects of his personality down though. When he pushes too far with jokes especially. Maybe add in the ability to relax and I want him to be able to pilot space shuttles. Tom Paris can teach him that. Also, he can have Jack's flirting ability. Not giving a damn if that's with man, woman or plant. That would be a fine addition.

5. What do you think Chris is doing right at this very moment? -- Asleep probably *g*

SATs do suck. It's a lot of stress for them and despite the teachers saying results don't matter, they totally do.

Ooooooooo! This was so super fun to read! I really really enjoyed reading these! You are very dear to my heart and getting to learn new intrecacies about you is fasinating to me! Especially the thing about your mom (mam, yes?) I think it is amazing what you are doing for your son there. You are such a good momma. It's not something I really talk about but my father is a recovering alcoholic and I know when he was still drinking my mom shielded me and my brother from it. It just amazes me how strong mothers can be for their children.

You're so very wonderful Terri. ♥

Yep, it's mam. It's what we call our mothers around here :)

And y'know, I really forgot to comment on the other stuff I really liked in here! That one just really stuck in my head when I first commented.

The Justin being a dad thing had me in stitches! Oh my goodness, that would be wonderful! I could seehim on the phone with his mom all of the time asking for help. He would be a great dad in the "play" area but when it came to responsibility I see him lacking...

Also, reading about your ideal fic was super fun! I'd love to see that too! I really have come to enjoy trickc but have read far to little of it. I guess I have a hard time finding it. I have a hard time finding everything though. That sounds like a splendid story though! I would read every bit of it!

(1) Does having a minority pairing OTP (Chris/Howie) affect your enjoyment of fandom at times?
(2) If you could live in any country in the world, which one would that be?
(3) If you could, would you want to know how and when you died?
(4) What annoys you the most in both fandom and real life?

1) Does having a minority pairing OTP (Chris/Howie) affect your enjoyment of fandom at times?

uhm. well to be honest it does affect me in the sense that there is not much to read about the paring.
there are less than 30 fics of this paring and I've read them all! This is partly why I decided to write fiction myself, so I could have some fun with the paring I like.
On the other hand, I see no problem reading about other pairings or writing about other pairings. I think that having a minority paring has helped me to see the beauty of other parings. It has encouraged me to write other pairings as well. Sure I've got my two otps (intra sync and cross over) but I like to venture writing other pairings, I really don't mind. I wish there was more people out there that would read Howie/Chris, but there isn't. That kinda separates me from the rest of the fandom, because it's also hard to get readers, but I'm cool. I enjoy the fandom for some other stuff that has nothing to do with the paring really.

(2) If you could live in any country in the world, which one would that be?
Well, I would like to go back to the States, to be honest. But in an ideal world I would like to live in Italy. Art everywhere, It would be like a dream.

3) If you could, would you want to know how and when you died?
That's interesting. I'm not afraid of dying. I'm a firm believer that when your times comes, there is nothing you can do. So..
But the answer would be no. I don't think it's healthy to know that. I like to be surprised by life :P

(4) What annoys you the most in both fandom and real life?
People that say one thing and act otherwise in order to agree with every body else, just to be popular or be "nice", and then behind the rest they think differently. Hypocrisy annoys me lots. I rather speak my mind and get into trouble that holding my piece and be part of a crowd.

(5) When's the last time you got falling down drunk?
During SeSa last year. Remember the fic that Adalisa and I co-wrote for the SeSa? We were drunk, really drunk. Then I had to go to an office party and drink a lot more. It was awful. I don't drink, I don't like alcohol, but that day, during SeSa sessions I was at Ada's and we decided to start a drinking game. If Lance screwed up the steps we would take a sip of our beers. Fancy that.
So it's really Lance's fault.

You give such great answers.

see no problem reading about other pairings or writing about other pairings. I think that having a minority paring has helped me to see the beauty of other parings

That's such a great attitude to take. I can imagine how annoying it must be to be so limited in your OTP choices, that you don't allow that to affect your enjoyment. Well, I think that's awesome.

But the answer would be no. I don't think it's healthy to know that. I like to be surprised by life

I'd have to agree with you there.

So it's really Lance's fault.

Of course it was!

Joking aside, I think Justin would be very protective is he was a father. If he gets stressed now, that would shoot up if he was looking after his own child. The paparazzi would have a field day, and that would end badly.
