It's very windy here today. Outside of my garden there's a tree. Its leaves are golden brown at the moment, and with each gust of wind, hundreds of leaves blow off the tree, streaming through the air to hit the window next to my desk. It's like watching a leaf blizzard, and it's very cool. I feel like one of the cats, distracted by the leaves that whirl around outside.

I tried to take some pictures, and as I'm lazy you can see them here and here

Other than that. There's something funky going on with my right thumb. It doesn't hurt, but sometimes feels stiff and weak. Then a moment or so later it's fine again. Stupid thing.

I've been reading the JuC swap stories this weekend, and I wanted to share some that I've enjoyed.

I think sometimes people don't read stories because they see the pairing, and that turns them off, but pairings are only one part of good stories, so, give them a try.

I'm Invincible. So Are You by [livejournal.com profile] phaballa. This story, I adored it so much. It made me cry, but in a good way. Because whenever another fandom tempts me, I read something like this, and know I'm going nowhere. It's a JuC story, but also a group story, and it's amazing. Nsync means love. It's that simple.

And I Work at My Job by [livejournal.com profile] withdiamonds This is funny, and touching and again, features the group, plus bonus Britney. Donna always writes everyone in Nsync well, which she does here, ending with a story I really enjoyed.

The Spirit Catches You by [livejournal.com profile] silveryscrape This story won't suit everyone. It's like a kick in the gut, but it's written wonderfully, and in my mind is totally threemanbus. If you like stories that make you think, and re read and marvel that someone can write something so affecting in such a sparse manner. Well, this is the story for you.

Whitewater by [livejournal.com profile] topaz119 This is a gorgeous AU set at a river rafting centre. Missy always writes such beautiful stories, and this is no exception. The whole group is in there, all with wonderful parts to play. This is one universe I'd love to see more of.

Thank you for the rec! That's probably my favorite popslash fic that I've written :)

You're welcome!

It's a wonderful story, even if it did make me cry, and even if I did love the Chris & Justin friendship the most.

I read that one. Twice. And loved it. But... I don't get it o.O What exactly is JC's problem? I mean, I figured it had to be something health-related, but apart from that... *feels incredibly stupid*

He has leukemia. Don't worry about feeling stupid, the way Mary wrote it was really slyly subcutaneous. *g*

It's like a kick in the gut, but it's written wonderfully, and in my mind is totally threemanbus

Terri, even though you didn't put down the author's name for this rec and I am crappy at remembering story titles, I read that one line and thought, "oooo! That must be the story [livejournal.com profile] silveryscrape wrote for me." ahahahah!

I'm outdoing myself in messing up links and names today. I'll go and edit Mary's name in now.

Despite knowing it was for the JuC swap, the story screamed threemanbus to me. Now that it's clicked it was written for you, I'm confident that its just not me wearing my threemanbus goggles *g*

There's no need to feel stupid. The clues were there but only if you were following the Sureshot stuff, which I doubt you were. Especially the mention of Chris' friend Rich, he's had leukemia, which was mentioned often in the Manband show.

What wonderful autumn pictures!

I wonder what's wrong with your thumb. If it hasn't got any better in a week or so you should probably ask your doctor about it. My great-grandfather used to say that "små sår och fattiga vänner ska man aldrig förakta" which more-or-less translates as "never disdain small injuries and poor friends".

I had to go and take pictures of the leaves. I just wish I could have captured how they were blowing. It was so cool.

That's a cool saying. Rikes suggested I get a wrist rest, and I may look into that. I do so much typing and it's my right thumb that I need the most, hitting the space bar all the time. So, it may be a factor.

Pretty pictures! We don't have any leaves anymore, just snow now!

Get a wrist rest for your mouse/keyboard, that could help.

Gaah! Still haven't read even half of the juc swap stories. :(

Snow already! Eeep.

I suspect it is a typing thing with my thumb, especially as it happens when I'm online and not other times. I'll have a look at the wrist rests next time I'm out.

I'm about a third through the swap stories for this year. I started with people I know, and will go randomly after that. I'm enjoying this reading time, because once SeSa starts I know I'll get little.

How are things for you?

Aww, thanks for the rec!

The 3manbus, it just creeps in there. I can't help it. I mean, of COURSE JC would call Chris for the truth, even if he didn't want to hear it.

You're very welcome.

I'll never be opposed to threemanbus creeping anywhere. I have woe you can't ask for threesomes at SeSa time, as I so would.
