Happy birthday to the most beautiful and amazing [livejournal.com profile] bubbleforest. I hope today is wonderful for you, sweetheart.

I bought my Christmas cards yesterday, so, if you'd like one from me could you go to this post. It's my address post from last year, all screened of course, but you'll be able to see your own comment. If I already have your address, that's great, but if you've moved or are new since last year or have decided you never want mail from me again, let me know. I'll happily send overseas, and to people who are new to my friendslist. Fear me, for I have cards and sparkle!

It's wet and windy and dark, and soon we need to set off for a rugby tournament. Three teams to play....sigh. I so hope there's somewhere sheltered to sit, otherwise I'm going to be so miserable. Especially as we're going Christmas shopping at Metrocenter straight after. Which reminds me, spare shoes to change into. We're going to buy Corey's annuals while WH Smith have a half price sale. I've told him he's only getting his PC this year, but I wouldn't cut off his books, he loves reading too much.

I mentioned that my sister has her own net connection now. Well she phoned the other day saying she was having problems downloading episodes of The L Word, she wants all of season four, so she asked if I could do it for her, and then burn onto disc. The torrent has been downloading ever since, nearly two days now. When I was talking to her I was tempted to mention the place I get my tv downloads from, but that would have meant her getting an LJ, and that way leads to madness. While she knows what I do, there's a difference between knowing and actually reading my journal and leaving comments, which she would. Rude ones too, because she's like that.

Last night we were heading off to spend some time at the best friends when James happened to mention his boss had asked what I do. James told him I was a romance writer, which, huh? Me and Henry Fitzroy man, churning out the romance bodice busters *g* Of course James then decided I should make money from writing and do a book. Which hello, one, I don't want to. Two, not good enough.

Gah, it's nearly time to go. Leave my nice warm house for the wet cold outdoors. When Corey's older I'm so going to remind him of all these hours spent on soggy fields.

"wet and windy and dark" -- I could get lost in inspiration just from that. Shoulders hunched, but face lifted. Closing my eyes to the trappings tangling my mind. Here is only darkness. Feeling all swept up and blown by the wind, blissfully covered by the darkness. Thank God for the darkness. The dark rain washes the ache and the angst. A shower clean of emotional restraint. Let the freeing wind whip everything away where it can inhibit me no more. Truth hidden by the darkness.

or something like that.

That's such a beautiful way of looking at things. You have quite the way with words.

I hope you survived the wet and windy and cold outdoors! And the shopping!! It's not windy here but it's dark and dreary and damp and icky but I went for a walk ANYWAY, I'm so proud of myself :-)

My family knows about my LJ but I have no idea if they read it or not. I mean, at least some of them are fluent enough in English to understand what I'm writing about, but so far they seem to've made a collective decision to igonore it :-)

Weeell, there is romance in your stories so I guess you ARE a sort of romance writer :-)

I did survive; just. It was so cold and wet, and by the time three games were over my fingers felt brittle.

But that's excellent you went walking anyway. I missed my walk today as it's been pouring down. It's weird how I miss it when I don't go.

Hee, I think ignoring it is a decision a lot of families of fannish people take. I know my brother and sister both know, but my brother especially never mentions it.

I hope you didn't get too wet on the field today!

I have moved, but you can still send mail to my old address. Seeing as it's my parents', and I'll be spending Christmas there. :)

I got wet feet, but I had dry shoes to change into so it wasn't that bad.

Okay, card will be going to your parents then :)

Thank you, Terri! And ugh, I hope the weather got better today. It sucks having to go out when you don't want to. :/

Sadly the weather seems to have stuck at cold, windy and wet. I don't think I've seen the sun for a week now. That's so wrong!
