Dec. 10th, 2007 07:44 amIt needs to be noted that as of now I have 33 mails in my in box. This is after a lot of weeding and deleting and I suspect a lot of old LJ comments I planned on replying to may go unanswered due to me deleting the notification. Which I hate, but when the mails got downloaded dupes happened and I had no idea what I'd answered and what I hadn't. Anyway, it feels like I have a clean slate now. It's very freeing. Also, I can see all my emails that need replies, before they tended to get lost in all the huge list of emails, which didn't help my sucktacular bad habit of taking so long to reply at times.
So yes, 33. I feel all kinds of accomplished just now. Especially as I've caught up on the flist too, which is a minor miracle as I seemed to have been running behind for a long time.
A state of SeSa panic seemed to rush through LJ yesterday, while I'm not panicking I've discovered that I find writing when someone else is around really difficult. James isn't wanting to read or anything, it's just, he watches tv or moves around and I get distracted so easily. I'll need to drug him I think *g*
I was wondering about introducing tags at
pop_reference. It'll be a job for the new year, but may be helpful. I know a lot of people on my flist are on the comm, so what do you think?
To end, a meme. I really like the ask you anything about fandom one, but it would be an excuse to think of anything but SeSa again, so have the Wikipedia Band Meme

Band: Aqua ( It wasn't me who sung Barbie Girl, promise! Come on barbie, lets go party.
Album: Sparrow Driver (Is it wrong my mind is going dirty places with that? Like, someone with a tiny dick. I don't know man, it's early)
Task Force 1942 -- Is obviously some kind of protest song. Probably about mini dicks.
Edmond Leburton -- Is the song bad mouthing the ex, with a mini dick.
Alain Rolland -- Is the person Edmond left me for, mini dicked bastards.
Humphrey-Weidman -- Are we sensing a theme here, yes we are! I'm obviously a slut with lots of exes I need to trash in song.
Flow diagram -- A song for the tuneful geek.
Gyminda orbicularis -- It sounds like some kind of disease. Maybe it rots dicks!
Thomas O. Paine -- Now this is the new guy, the song is upbeat and hopeful.
Iisvesi -- the concept song which is just noise and screeching sound. Everyone hates it and fast forwards it on the CD.
Saskatchewan Highway 646 -- It's the song which is a tribute to Sam and Dean's epic love on the road!
2012 NCAA Men's Division I Ice Hockey Tournament -- Ahahaha! This is recounting those glory days of mass hockey orgies. The cold makes dicks mini you know.
Them municipality -- The difficult song that was added as filler
Naked (Marques Houston album) -- My album has a theme, have you spotted it yet?
Ipertensione -- It rhymes with hormone don't you know?
Adam Fawer -- Which isn't about an ex, but Adam Fawer, the guy who's taller
Censorship in the United Kingdom -- Let me fight against censorship! This is a big screw you to the UK, because they wouldn't let me use mini dicks as the album art
Two Hills, Alberta -- Screw the mini dicks, I've moved onto girls. So much better.
Now, must get the kidlet, fed and out to school.
ETA:
rikes santa hatted some of my icons, and this one of Chris is amazing. Look at his little scowly face!

Date: 2007-12-10 11:06 am (UTC)Tags for pop_reference would be helpful, I think. The amount of work involved depends on how detailed you want to be, but I guess tags for each band and guy would be the minimum requirement. If you need help, I'll volunteer. :)

Date: 2007-12-10 07:18 pm (UTC)I'd love your help to sort out the tags at pop_reference! It's pointless sorting things out now, but I'll be emailing you for sure in the new year.
Thanks for the offer.

It may be mean, but I enjoyed the panic posts. It showed despite the owner changes, things are still the same.

Date: 2007-12-10 01:13 pm (UTC)Also, I sent you an email right about the time your account went bonkers, so I don't know if you got it, but it was just a heads-up that I finally got that book in the mail. It should be getting to you sometime this week, if we believe the post office.

Date: 2007-12-10 07:14 pm (UTC)Thank you! But I'll go and fish the mail out from the web based site, otherwise it feels like I'm ignoring you.

Date: 2007-12-10 02:33 pm (UTC)re email - I'm always curious about how people organise their email - do you do filters? Folder away things after they're replied to? have everything in your inbox? Subdivide by periods of time? *is nosy*
no subject
Date: 2007-12-10 07:10 pm (UTC)I don't have filters, what I do is let everything download into the main in box. Then I reply from bottom up, newest first. Which is a bad method and why some emails get lost in the masses. Because some days I get a lot of mail.
Once I reply I put the emails into folders if I want to keep it. Which I do for every mail unless it's a bog standard LJ comment reply or spam. I have folders for various people, a LJ addie folder, each big challenge has a folder, and I also have an ego boost folder, for those days when I need cheering up.
