I had quite the haul of cards today. Thank you so much to [livejournal.com profile] mickeym, [livejournal.com profile] castalie, [livejournal.com profile] marrymehowie, [livejournal.com profile] wistfuljane with the best drawing ever! [livejournal.com profile] strippedhalo, [livejournal.com profile] snowjag and [livejournal.com profile] lazydwarf, [livejournal.com profile] jae_w, [livejournal.com profile] clumsygyrl and [livejournal.com profile] ninjetti75 and Josh's present came complete with the best present ever! Seriously. If I'm allowed I'll tell everyone about it asap.

I have to admit, I ran out of money to post stuff before Christmas, so a group of people will be getting stuff late. Which, my bad. Sorry.

I'm sure nanna's run on some kind of time that's much faster than the norm. My nanna just phoned and at the end of the conversation went, 'well, I'm sure I'll see you sometime' with that sometime conveying all sorts about how I never go and see her OMG! We were there last Sunday, for almost the whole afternoon. Obviously to her it was weeks ago.

James got another months sick note this morning, then when he came home we needed to go shopping, hitting the sales in the process. Can I say £3 bras for the win? I think I can. Also, I braved HMV and bought FOB's Infinity on High and Take That's Beautiful World for £10. I was tempted to get MCR's The Black Parade for £4, but sadly I only had a £10 gift card. They're all albums I've downloaded previously, but it's nice to have the actual CDs.

James had to go pick up his tablets then, so I sat in the car and people watched while amusing myself by wondering how I could get Chris and Mikeyway into one story. I decided it would have to be some kind of award show featuring MCR and Justin, and Chris could be skulking around backstage where he'd find Mikey, probably sitting staring at a wall or something. Chris would be bored so he'd try and start a conversation and Mikey would be sitting there, all knobbly knees and bony wrists and utter lack of movement, and Chris would be fidgeting, picking things up and setting them aside, which is something Mikey's used to, being at the centre, and people in blurred motion around him, so he'd relax and say something like 'you used to be in a band, right?' and Chris would shrug and be all, 'just a small one' and they'd get talking about things and Chris would mention how Justin and JC were always the front men, and Mikey would sympathise, because he knows all about being off to the side, and he's say 'at least Justin and JC didn't pretend to make out on stage' and Chris would shudder and say 'God no, but once I found them crammed in the bathroom, and there was nakedness and my eyes' and the stories would get wilder until suddenly Justin would appear, flanked by his flunkies, and he'd tell Chris he'd been looking for him everywhere and would he come on already! At which point Mikey would say 'you know Justin Timberlake?'

Or something like that anyway.

*g* I think nannas/grandmas just get in the habit of guilt-tripping and don't know how to stop, even when there isn't really anything to guilt-trip about. I know both my grandmas did.

And you totally should write that story. Except where you sort of almost did, but longer, yes!

I think you're right about nannas/grandmas. I know mine would still guilt trip even if I went up daily *g*

I don't know about the story. I'm enjoying reading bandom a lot, but I've written nothing but popslash with the occasional Sentinel ficlet for years now. The thought of moving something new is scary! Which is ridiculous, but still. I worry about messing up characterisation and a thousand other things.

I did enjoy thinking about it though.

Does this mean you read bandom, too?

Heh. I'm more of a story junkie than anything else, have been all my life, since I first learned that if I applied myself, I could read the stories myself, and not wait for mom to read them to me. I'll read from pretty much any fandom if the story catches me right, or I'm fond of the author's work in general, or whatever, you know?

And see, crossovers give you an out! Because you're still writing popslash, just with added characters! So it's all good. *g*

If I end up with a series of stories, all crossing Chris with some other bandom dude, I'll blame you totally *g*

I'm planning on buying The Black Parade as soon as I get money in January.

That story idea cracks me up :-) And hey! you've written one bandslash fic already, the Patrick/Mikey one you wrote for me before Christmas!

I was so torn between the Take That and FOB combo, or The Black Parade. Like you I prefer MCR's music, but sadly there wasn't anything else I wanted to make it up to the £10. It was such a bargain though. I may go back yet and buy it too.

True, but that was a ficlet hidden in comments. That's different to an actual posted fic *g*

Ahahahaha!! That spider story! I could see Chris waiting for the punchline, and Mikey going, "No, that's it." so Chris makes up a dozen great punchlines to it, each more improbable than the next. It would be awesome.

(I rule for encouraging you!)

I want to read that story! Chris and Mikeyway - not a pairing I'd considered before, but I think they'd be hilarious together. (either as friends or more!)

I got several iTunes giftcards this year, I can't wait to download a few more bandom songs. ;)

I saw it more of a friends thing, them just hanging out at random times, and talking about insane things. It would be awesome!

Oh, bandom songs. Which bands are you into? I'm loving MCR and FOB, but none of the others have grabbed me yet.

Panic and FOB have stolen my heart, MCR is catching up, and lately I've been checking out The Hush Sound - Greta and her boys are adorable!

And yeah, Chris and Mikey would have an interesting friendship - hmm, now if only someone would write that story . . .
