I've been listening to Empires new album this morning, and I like it a lot. They've got it up at their website and you can download it for free, and I recommend that you do so because it's good. Howl

pierson linked to slash_victims this morning, and every post cracked me up. It's well worth a look.

Finally, I was comment chatting to woolly_socks earlier and we got to talking about that photo meme that goes around every now. I said I'd take some pics of stuff where I live for her, so if anyone else want to see anything just ask away. Just, it's raining really hard right now, so anything outside would have to wait.

ETA: I just finished reading Hear Me Out and I enjoyed it so much. It's Frank turning into a girl, but what's a cracky idea is written so well, and I especially loved how Mikey was written. Really, some amazing stories have been posted lately.

Hmmm, I'm always wary of turned-into-a-girl stories, especially one where the guy stays a girl. And especially in bandslash- a lot of the fandom seems all about embracing the het at the moment. I know it's probably unfair of me but it still feels like it's capitulating to heteronormativity to be so excited about het love stories :-/

I get your objection, I really do. I hardly read any of the turns into a girl stories but gave this one a go and am so glad I did. It has Frank dealing with real issues about changing gender, and the way he interacts with his band is priceless.

It's a great story and the het part is only a tiny part of that. Something that happens toward the end, while the majority of the story is him having to learn to accept himself, and the way people around him perceive him.
