_bettina_ tried to traumatise me this morning by mentioning Michael Knight/Kitt slash. Which led to me thinking of the greasy Hoff. Which is a bad thing! A very bad thing!

I was just sent a link to the BBC news site with surprise Mikeyway content.

After I'd finished drooling, I was amused at how they'd used his Angels and Kings pictures as if he's some kind of emo rebel. I mean, you'd think that they'd picture Gerard, but obviously Mikey's head shots fit what they were going for so much better.

This quote also amused me In 10 years time we'll have all these 30-year-olds on I Love 2008 talking about how embarrassed they are to have been emos. We'll have a Tory prime minister who's a Fall Out Boy fan." I'm ahead of the trend, people! Ahead of it and then some *g*

You know, I read that article, saw the words 'emo' 'romanticising death' 'glorifying suicide' and 'parents are so worried' and I was thinking of that scene in LOTMS when the boys exchange their christmat gifts... how dorky and sweet they were. TPTB totally should show that footage and people would stop worrying lol

Or they should listen to the guys talk about about life all the time, or watch Gerard get enraged at the idea that girls are objectified, or Frank warning Bob that talking about being happy to be called thin isn't a good idea because kids could get the wrong idea that one needs to be thin to be popular and, seriously, those guys are so awesome and so anti-rock and anti-everythingnegative, that they should feel reassured.

Honestly, I'd prefer my kid to be a fan of MCR than some other band where the boys are jerks who like to call women 'whores' or those female!artists who seem to pass the message that to be 'in' you need to look like a stick or else you're just fat and ugly and no boys will ever want you and that is just the worst thing ever omg!

The Daily Mail are creating a fuss over nothing, it's lazy journalism with no attempt to see beyond the surface. If they'd even check a little they'd find those examples you mention, and many more. I mean, some of their best known lyrics are 'I'm not afraid to keep on living' That's one heck of a powerful message.

At least with the batmobile it has those big ass exhaust thing which would take a dick nicely. Though there is a danger he wouldn't get the tightness needed.
