This morning I was changing the sheet on our bed. Not a hard job you'd think, but when you have a small gap on one side of the bed only, and you add in the mattress topper, well, it gets more complicated.

First, the sheet is elasticated, which means hooking one corner at the bottom, stretching it onto the other corner and then doing a combined hold on tight-stretch-dive move to get to the top. Of course, this has to be done while in a star fish shape, because you have to keep the sheet taut or it'll spring out of your grasp.

So, you're at the top of the bed, corner of sheet in one hand, and somehow have to heave up the very heavy and awkward mattress with the other. But you know what makes it worse? While doing so I'm being judged by all four cats, because whenever I go upstairs they inevitably all follow. It doesn't matter what they've been doing or where, I go into the bedroom or bathroom, look up and there they all are.

So, they're sitting, judging my bed making efforts, and really, what right do they have? It's not like they could do better. Still, clean sheets, that's always awesome.

The weekend has been nice. On Saturday we went grocery shopping and while at Asda I picked up the new Kerrang for the Frank and Gerard article. While checking out the very chatty shop girl mentioned how she was watching the channel earlier, and I was like yes, come to me fellow Kerrang fan! Then she got chatting how she'd changed musical genres really fast, going from pop to bands like MCR and we got to talking about how I did the same, and how I liked Nsync and she went, doesn't everyone like Nysnc? at which point I wanted chatty shop girl to talk with me about Nsync and MCR forever.

Yesterday we went for a drive to the beach. There was snow on the sand dunes and it looked so stark and beautiful. The pond in the park was frozen over and the seagulls were skating on landing on take off, while the swans lorded it over everyone from their end of the pond which still had unfrozen water.

Then I came home, did the usual Sunday things and wrote. I should hit 20k today and hopefully should wrap it up by 30. Hopefully. In that way there's no chance of that at all.

An A+ just because it's you!

Hm, that changing-shets-fiasco sounds awfully familiar. Minus the cats, though. During my Voluntary Egological Year I had to change 65 bedsheets weekly. How I survived that, I will never know. ^^
But I do love to sleep in freshly washed sheets and pyjamas. There's nothing much better than that.

and she went, doesn't everyone like Nysnc?
Haha. WORD.

I'm jealous you live close to the beach. Me wanna. Cold though atm, I guess?

I hate changing sheets so much. It's worth the effort, but man, at the time bare mattresses and uncovered quilts look appealing. And dude, 65 beds weekly! That's insane.

YES! Everyone should like Nsync.

It's really cold right now, colder than it usually is too. It's been a weird winter over here. I've seen more snow than I have for years.

*g* I have this picture in my head of the kitties with little number signs, arguing amongst themselves.

"7!"
"Pssht, 6 at best, surely she could have made that reach at the halfway mark."
"No, no, no, a 9 for sure--did you see that save there at the end? Brilliant work!"

*giggles* for me, it's changing the duvet cover that's a nightmare - it is impressively big and heavy (I LOVE this thing). And yes, there is nothing more wonderful than fresh sheets... gotta wash mine today.

I'm tall and have a small bed. So, for me, it's easy.
But I love your cats reaction! :p
Sometimes Froufrou just walks suddenly into my room then stops and looks intensely at me. And then leaves.

See, I'm not tall and have a big bed, so it's an exercise in throwing myself around like a loon *g*

Cats are very disdainful creatures. I'm sure they think we're beneath them.

*giggles A LOT* Lancecat completely ignores me when I change the bedding and wash the dishes but dusting and vacuuming is endlessly fascinating. He doesn't do the judging thing though, perhaps because he knows it won't get the same effect with just one cat :-) And yes, clean sheets are awesome!

What a great shop girl!

The beach sounds wonderful. There is something so majestic about the sea in the winter.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that today's writing will be successful.

Yeah, one cat would lose the power of a row of judgment! *g*

She was an awesome shop girl. I wanted to take her away to talk.

Yeah, the beach was wonderful. Cold and still and so weird to see snow on sand.

Well, I haven't started writing yet, but I have time!

Cats are horribly judgmental. Freesia is sitting on my desk now, and probably judging how fast I can type.

Hee hee! I'm pretty sure that nsync has now reached the point in the general populace where it's Okay to say you like them (which I suspect lots of people did the whole time, but, y'know).

I suspect many people liked them but didn't admit the fact. Though it's beyond me how anyone couldn't like them in all their sparkly awesome glory.

It was fun to talk about them while in line. It made paying for the groceries easier, that's for sure *g*

Snowboarding is boring. You need to come chat to my grocery girl :)

Well, something came up so I only hit 19,937. I guess I could go for those last few words but it would mean starting a new bit and I need to go to bed sometime tonight.

I made them eat out of the bin anyway, so result *g*

Your bed-making description had me laughing hard! Mine is similar, except with two cats, and for the extra part where Giz dives in with front paws splayed...sliding across the clean sheet towards the corner I've just stretched.

ps...your nsync bonding story and how the snow looked...has me jealous. No more snow here...and definitely no local friends of mine into boybands.
