I like the new Nigels 11 song, Chris sounds awesome. If you haven't heard it yet, [livejournal.com profile] musiclover03 has it for download here Eta, and with credit to [livejournal.com profile] raynedanser *mwah*

Somehow, and I don't know how this happened, I have 25k of angsty h/c Panic centric fic. A few days ago I mentioned how I was planning on 30k in total. Yeah, that's not going to happen. I haven't even started to fix them. Wait, okay, I lie. Bob the good trucker turned up a thousand words back, so he's started the first steps of fixing Ryan and Spencer, Brendon, however, is still in his lonely hotel room suffering from salmonella. Though I didn't do that to him, it was all [livejournal.com profile] sperrywink's suggestion.

So, my new target is 40k. If I go over that I'll cry. You know what the worst thing is? I have all these side ideas, like explaining what happened with Jon and Tom and how Mikey and Pete actually got their shelter and it's just. How did this happen? It's all very perplexing.

In other news. It's my nanna's birthday today, so we're off to see her very soon. She says she doesn't want any fuss but if we didn't there would be hell to pay. &nanna;

Before I go, I was uploading some albums for someone. Now, I'm well aware that anyone that actually wants there will have them, but I don't like wasting links so I'm throwing them out here just in case.

Ooooh!!!! Is Bob the good trucker healing them with the power of sex? At least healing Spencer that way? *makes puppy dog eyes* However he's doing it, I can't wait to read it!!!! :)

New Nigels 11! Yay! *runs off to download*

*tackle hugs you* Thank you so much for posting the MCR links! I've wanted to check them out, but just haven't been spending money on cds lately. I can't wait to hear them!

Happy Birthday to your Nana! My Gram is like that too. "No fuss, sweetie." Then, its like, "No one cared that I celebrated my birthday..." *sighs* I love her dearly. She's an awesome and spunky old lady! :)

Sadly Spencer and Ryan are very much an item so Bob can't heal with the power of sex. Even though it's a method I approve of! *g*

It's an awesome song!

You're welcome for the songs. If you like I have a load of other MCR stuff, including bootlegs, official videos etc, so I'd be happy to help out if you're interested.

Hee. Your Gram sounds like nanna. All her grandkids are great-grandkids were up there and she was so happy, if exhausted when we left *g*

Yeah, they do sound a like, don't they? :) Gram doesn't have any great grandkids yet, I'm the oldest and the rate I'm going, she won't for a long time. The other grandkids are just reaching 13.

Bob is totally in the mix. Though as I started writing him patching the boys up I realised that me thinking Bob is a caretaker is really obvious.

So yeah, he's their first step to finding a safe place with Mikey and Pete, not that they know that yet :)

*considers* Huh. Yeah, that's certainly a theme. Specifically Bob the nomadic caregiver, who wanders into the situation, looks around and quietly picks stuff up [and by 'stuff' I mean 'people']and starts mending.

I think we all end up with themes like that, though.

So, did Bob know Pete first?

Yeah, that's it totally. It ties in to canon I think, how he wasn't part of the band, then was, and while he certainly didn't fix them on his own, he played a big part.

You know, the back story of thus verse is so detailed to me that I'll never be able to write the story that goes with it and do it justice. Anyway!

One of the reasons Pete pushed so hard to build the shelter was because of his background. While his parents were never out and out mean they didn't get him, and their decision to send him to boot camp backfired terribly, because it ended up as one of the worst periods of his life.

After that Pete learned that the best thing to do was put up a front, show people what they wanted to see so they wouldn't look closer, because if they did that they'd see just how screwed up he really was.

So, on one hand Pete is king of the scene, on the other he often needs time alone, which is how Bob meets him.

There's a rest stop just outside of Chicago where Bob likes to stop. It sells good coffee and he likes to load up on a good breakfast before setting off. One morning he pulls in and sees someone sitting on top of one of the picnic benches.

When Bob gets closer he sees that the person is wet through, hair plastered to his head, eye liner running down his cheeks and despite knowing he should just walk past, Bob has to go over and ask if he's okay.

That's the first time he met Pete. He ends up buying him a coffee and not really talking at all, but when he leaves, Pete smiles for the first time and says, 'thank you.'

After that Bob sees him occasionally, always sitting on the same picnic table, and eventually they start to talk. Pete telling how he walks here when he needs to clear his head. Which Bob thinks is weird, because, truck stop, but well, Pete's weird too.

Over the months they talk so much that eventually they swap numbers, and even meet in other places at times. Which is good because Pete worries Bob, especially when he gets caught inside his own head.

So, one day when he gets a text that Pete will be at the truck stop Bob feels twisted inside, worrying what now? But when he gets there Pete's sitting with someone else, and they're holding hands and when Bob walks close Pete kicks at the ground and smiles and introduced Mikey.

Which is a surprise, because a guy, never mind a guy with ridiculous hair and weird glasses, heavy eye make-up and so skinny he looks like he'd be blown away by a stiff breeze. He's the typical scene queen and Bob thinks Pete deserves so much better. Which is when the guy notices Bob's truck and suddenly grins wide and exclaims that Bob is transporting cereal and how you could live for months in the back of that truck and he's laughing as he talks and Pete is just standing watching him, not even grinning that broad grin, just obviously happy and enamored and at that moment Bob knows he's looking at something special.

And of course he was, and they went on to build their shelter and Bob helped as much as he could and slipped them food and supplies and yeah. He knew Pete first.

And wow, I'll stop babbling on now.

I think it ties well into canon, definitely. Frank's constantly thanking God for Bob Bryar is very telling.

I most often find myself playing with the outsider/cohesive group dynamic in regards to Bob. Granted half the time I'm writing him as a member of another SPECIES, so the sense of being Other is rather drastic.

And wow, I'll stop babbling on now.
Um... WOW TERRI.
They are so, so awesome. I love how the friendship develops between Pete and Bob. And in that first meeting with Mikey - he just SHINES. UGH!!!!!!

Terri, you can babble at me FOREVER.

Yeah, grandparents are good at that. Nanna made me laugh because my brother and his family turned up at the same time, and having us all there at once obviously made her day. Until she shooed us out, exhausted *g*

Honestly? I think it will end up around that number. I mean, I'm over 26k now and there's still so much to happen. And that's without the fact this is very much a rough draft. Once I go back and add more stuff in the count will climb for sure.

The thing is though, I'm easing myself into the number. I've come to terms I'm going to go over 30k. Once I have I'll ease into accepting the +40.
