Whoever sent me the package from Lush. Thank you! It's just been delivered and seriously. I'm all kinds of blown away, because it was so unexpected and it's my favourite stuff and just. THANK YOU! I love you. A lot. eta: Thank you so much, Saba <3333333

Also, thank you so much to everyone that posted birthday wishes, emails, ecards, stories, picspam for my birthday. You guys are all kinds of awesome and I'm so lucky to have you in my life.

This is lame I know, but each year I save all the posts etc and make a new birthday folder. I have quite a few now and sometimes look at the messages inside, some people are nothing but happy memories now, some people are brand new this year, others have been around for many years. But you're all important, very much so.

Much love is going to you all. Also, many hugs, even if you're not a huggy person. It's the day after my birthday, I can hug if I want to.

I had a lovely day yesterday. I spent most of it with my boys, the bff and her son. We hung out and then had dinner at Pizza Hut, because we're just that classy. I got some nice stuff and when I went to nanna's she slipped me some money and told me to buy myself some new knickers. Now, why she thought I needed new knickers I don't know, but the sentiment was appreciated. She also gave me a mini address book with a cat on the front, telling me she's won the useless thing in a raffle so thought she'd give it to me, and yes, the useless thing were her exact words &nanna;

During the day I had a fascinating discussion with the bff, who's a facebook addict. She just couldn't get why I wasn't keen on the site, or what I got out of LJ, and actually said I didn't get FB because I wasn't up on online stuff, which amused me. I've mentioned before, but she just doesn't get being a fan at all. It's totally alien to her, which means we often talk at cross-purposes, she keeps asking if my online friends are weird like me, and if being a fan is what makes someone weird, well yes, yes you all are. We can all be weirdos together.

There was also a moment in the car where we got onto the fact I wrote and as seems to happen every time, she brought up that I should write a book, which is always irritating because it's not something I want to do. And then her 15 year old son offered to type up my stories for me, which, heck no!

Still, it was a lovely day, and when it's payday I get to go buy something off my boys, so my birthday stretches. Excellent!

ETA: And a birthday card from Raven just arrived. Thank you so much, honey.

I'm so glad that you had such a lovely day!

I don't think that a birthday folder is a lame idea at all; I think it's excellent. *smishes*

Yay for weirdos! We have more fun. :)
I really don't think that being a fan makes one a weirdo [at least not initially]. I think you have be innately weird from the get go.

And your nanna is *awesome*.

It was fantastic :)

I really love my birthday folders. It's so cool looking and seeing people from 5-6 years ago who are still here.

I think you have be innately weird from the get go.

That sounds like a good theory to me, and explains so much *g*

Nanna makes me laugh often. She'll want to know what I buy, but it won't be knickers.

Wait, there wasn't a note with the package? Weird. Anyway, sorry that the package only got there today but I'd originally planned to get you a voucher so you could choose something yourself but apparently Lush doesn't do vouchers *grumbles* so I had to choose something myself and I am just so so glad that you like it! :D It would have sucked if I had picked stuff you hate, you know? *g* Also, I love you, too! *smoooches*

Also also, I'm really glad you had such a nice birthday. And I will always take your hugs! ♥

Also also also, I really love the birthday folder idea. I should steal it :) .

Good to hear that your boys celebrated you in style! And your nanna is hilarious :-)

Can I be first in line to be a weirdo? I've always been proud of the fact that I am one :-)

I hear you about the talking at cross-purposes thing! It works the other way around too, I often got problems understand how non-fans work. So many of the things they think are important or interesting seem so totally boring and uninteresting to me and I keep wondering what on earth they DO with their lives besides work, eat, and sleep.

Yeah, I often wonder that too. I can't imagine not being fannish about something.

Larry spent a few years saying if I was going to write, I should write a book and at least make money from it. It always made me furious. My BFF knows about fandom and that I write, but she doesn't want to know what about, and at this point, she just nods and accepts it all. I think it helps that she's met [livejournal.com profile] silveryscrape and liked her a lot and realized that while we may all be weirdos, we're weirdos in a nice way.

Yes, that! I hate when people say I should write a book and make money, and it happens over and over when people find out that I do like to write. I write for fun. I like knowing I don't have to do it if I don't want to. Plus, it seems like an insult in some ways, that what you're doing just because isn't good enough.

I had a very involved conversation with Jill and she seemed concerned that I go off and stay with people from the internet, and that they come to mine. But like I told her, I've known a lot of you for years and I haven't been burnt yet.

People from the internet. We're a scary and dangerous group.

Lois used to be the same way, but she's finally figured out that it's okay. Then she went through a phase of being jealous of how much time I spent with you guys instead of her. Now we've achieved a balance and it's not an issue anymore. But it was for a time.

Yeah, that's it exactly. We've been friends forever, and at this point we just agree we'll never understand some parts of each other. Which is the best way I think.

That sounds like a lovely day, useless things included. :D

We're all a weird bunch of people. Though my friends and family have considerably calmed down after meeting some ljers, like Jules, who is the least threatening person ever.

I just told my mom about going to England in May and she just said, the same people again, right?

Why do people insist on you writing a book? Aren't you allowed to have a hobby?

Having friends and family meeting internet people is the best way to show they're not axe murders. I should invite the bff to the meet up at mine, but she'd probably be scarred for life.

Why do people insist on you writing a book? Aren't you allowed to have a hobby?

Exactly! I write because I like to, that should be enough. But it seems every time people find out they go I should write a book and make some money, and just, no.
