Jul. 16th, 2009 11:33 amLast night I was amusing myself by thinking of a story where Mikey and Alicia start giving out snuggies as gifts. See, because I like to think they have their own and sit around in them at nights. Like, when it's in the early hours and they're watching infomercials, Piggie asleep at their side and it's all domestic and quiet, so different to their daytime lives, and Mikey's texting Gerard, because Gerard's up with Lindsey and Bandit, just watching them and he's at that stage you get with a young baby, bone tired but happy still and Alicia reading over Mikey's shoulder and is like, we should get them snuggies, not that it's cold in LA but everyone needs a blanket, especially a blanket with arms.
Then it just takes off, they get one for Frank and he hacks a few inches off the bottom because he kept walking in his and tripping over, and Bob, who never actually wears it when anyone can see but it still gets all soft with wear and washing, and Pete, who gets the zebra print pattern, because they both know Pete's someone that can always use a blanket hug and soon everyone in bandom has one. Ryan opening a package one day and he doesn't even know Mikey and Alicia, not really, but there's a note saying, keep your head up. Ryan wears his with beads and a matching leopard print hat, and Brendon uses his like a cape until no one's watching then he turns it around the right way and cuddles in.
I don't even know, man. It keeps me occupied anyway.
I got up to some lovely comments about the story I posted yesterday, which was a fantastic surprise. At least I can talk about it now, I'm not used to writing away on my own, and keeping a secret from someone you pretty much talk to daily isn't easy. All I can say is, thank goodness for
sperrywink She listens to every insane idea I have, endlessly encourages me and replies thoughtfully when I shoot off emails such as, *insert list of characters here* Who goes on the rescue mission? Huge amounts of love to her, and
themoononastick who came through for me big time.
Still on the theme of writing, cliche_bingo. I've seen a few people do this now so I'm following their leads because I'm a big old lemming. Behind the cut is my cliche_bingo card and I'd love if you could give me prompts. Bandom only, sorry. I don't promise to write them, but I will consider them for sure, otherwise I'll end up with a whole card full of Mikey/Frank, Mikey/Pete, Mikey/Frank/Pete, which is awesome, don't get me wrong, but I should try and branch out sometimes. This way I can look at the prompts, consider them, and write Mikey/Frank anyway.
I'm giving myself a cap of a few thousand words for these otherwise I'll never finish, and the secrets and lies prompt is already taken. Other than that, anything goes, including variations of Mikey, Pete and Frank.

Mikey made himself Piggy Bucks. How is he even real?
Kerrang is playing Avenged Sevenfold vs Guns N' Roses at the moment. November Rain is at number two, which makes me wonder what Avenged song can beat NR. Ha, Kerrang have pulled a fast one, they've alternated bands from #20 but at #1 is Knocking on Heaven's Door.
We're off out with nanna and her friend later. Nanna's friend, Vi, is such a lovely woman and I enjoy seeing her. She's the one who, when she was up last time and it started showering went back to the car, got my coat and started putting it on me. I tell you, to those two I remain ten years old. I also get to go for a ride in the hire car we have right now. Yesterday was a day of frustration about getting ours fixed, and while motabilty pays for a hire car we needed to find the money for a deposit ourselves. You know, one day something like that won't be a huge thing to sort out. That'll be a good day.

Date: 2009-07-16 11:14 am (UTC)Like, they send one to Jon, maybe with a cat pattern, and he wanders around in it, his little bare feet sticking out at the bottom, and then picks up his bass and sits down and just strums out a song in this ridiculous blanket with arms.
Oh man, someone needs to stop me.

Date: 2009-07-16 12:12 pm (UTC)Prompts:
Minor Characters - Matt Cortez. Which should obviously be combined with the matchmaker/yentas prompt. :D
I like the idea of combining the emails/letters [twitter/texts] prompt with the roadtrips one -and I think there should be a Gerard involved in that.
Festivals - The first thing that springs to mind, unsurprisingly, is Day of the Dead. Which makes me think of Mexico and of filming The Black Parade is Dead. [The Mexico show was filmed in early October, so technically you could have sugar skulls and such in the stores. Yeah, yeah... it's possible I'm grasping a bit. ;P]
Crossovers - I really, really think you need to write that CSI crossover... moar Greggo!

Date: 2009-07-16 12:22 pm (UTC)But yeah, footie pjs are good too.
I'm shocked you've picked Matt *g* But yes, good combination.
I don't know why but the roadtrip and emails/letters has gone to Gerard plus Bandit in my head. A solo father/daughter trip documented through generalised tweets and more specific emails. Really all I want is Gerard changing diapers in the back of his car.
The Day of the Dead fits them nicely. You're asking me for Frank feeding Mikey sugar skulls, right? That's what I'm seeing *g*
Dude, yes! I could combine with the death. Bump someone off.

Date: 2009-07-16 12:41 pm (UTC)Also, what about including Brendon in your list of bandom characters to include in your prompts? Not that I'd mind Frank/Mikey or Frank/Mikey/Pete, not at all but, you know, Brendon? Brendon + physical violence, for instance? Or Brendon + the religious card. Or Brendon and vulnerability omg!
Yes, well, I have Brendon on my mind a lot at the moment! *cough*
no subject
Date: 2009-07-16 12:46 pm (UTC)I wouldn't say no to Brendon at all. Just I know myself, if left to my own devices I'll fall back on the same pairings. So I take it your vote is for something with Brendon and vulnerability?
I think I can do something with that.

<33333333 I think you're right.
Congrats on posting your story! I'm so glad you're getting a good response!
A day with your nanna and her friend sounds wonderful. Vi sounds so sweet, too!

Vi is awesome, sadly it's started storming here. We may have to put off our visit :(

Date: 2009-07-16 02:03 pm (UTC)I think Frank should try to play matchmaker for Gerard and Bob, he would be SO BAD at it :-) You were never into Buffy, were you? I want an early-days crossover where My Chem ends up in Sunnydale for some reason and there are lots of shennanigans with vampires SO MUCH!!
I laughed so much at the Piggy Bucks pic.
Have a fun afternoon, I hope the weather is good!

Date: 2009-07-16 02:10 pm (UTC)I was a casual Buffy viewer, but not enough to write about them, sadly. Matching making however, that's doable.
It's just. Piggy Bucks. All you can do is laugh.
Sadly it's just started to bucket it down. Which is typical.

Date: 2009-07-16 02:55 pm (UTC)Physical violence: The first thing I thought of was wasn't there some concert when a guy got up on stage and Bob ripped off his headphones and looked murderous? (I don't remember exactly, but I think it was something like that.) Well, I would read a version of that in which some guy gets up and grabs Mikey (I know I know) and then Bob actually does storm across the stage. Then again, Bob/Mikey might be my MCR OTP (I haven't quite decided yet, but).

Date: 2009-07-16 11:08 pm (UTC)(Like, 'Drugs' would be the obvious one, buuut 'Road Trip' - they throw their guitars in the back of Ryan's car and drive around looking for inspiration. :D? )
no subject
Date: 2009-07-17 08:28 pm (UTC)Drugs is the obvious one, but I want them to be happy. Sunsets and music, maybe a convertible and them both wearing huge ass sunglasses.
You give awesome prompts.

Date: 2009-07-16 11:11 pm (UTC)Eeeeeeee, so adorable and awesome! You should totally turn this into a real story! :DDD
This way I can look at the prompts, consider them, and write Mikey/Frank anyway.
Hee! &TERRI;
Also, I totally want Bob for the age regression prompt! He would be so adorable ZOMG! Frank would totally freak out (because secretly he wants into normal!Bob's pants and now Bob's suddenly a 5 year old or whatever! WTF is going on?)! Bob and Gerard would get along great! They could draw together! Ray would be all parent-y! Mikey would bring his old Gameboy and him and Bob would bond over Tetris or whatever! :D?
And for time travel I want one of the Panic boys to travel from the happy past into the future and being all bewildered about how the band could split up like this - because OMG, where did the love go?! And it totally reminds future!Panic of the love and they get back together as band/friends THE END.
Whoops, the 'want' makes these two sound really demanding but they are totally just ~suggestions :) .
no subject
Date: 2009-07-17 01:56 pm (UTC)I second this! And I third it! I have been wanting this story forever! Or at least since I tripped and fell into bandom. Bob who taught them all to take no shit is suddenly tiny and cute and too young to know how to not take any shit and, like, really surprising things make him cry! Or scare him! And nobody has the first clue what to do because Bob isn't supposed to ever cry or get scared, he's the one who is there for other people when they cry or get scare WTF!** Or, whatever, just, SOME kind of story with wee!Bob. Because <333!
** That could even be the reason for the regression? Bob is stressed out and doesn't want to let it show because he feels like he's always got to be the solid, dependable dude who never has a meltdown. But he makes an off-handed wish, or the tour bus drives through a ~magical zone~ or whatever at a moment when he's wishing he could take a break and not have to be all stoic and unflappable for a while. And suddenly POOF. He's five years old.
