To those playing along with pick your own adventure, there was another vote for leaving Gerard unconscious, this means there's now a tie. I feel the only fair thing to do is kill him off somehow :D
A tweet from Joe led to me watching Muse this morning, where they were forced to perform to a backing song and music track on a so called live performance. I love Muse, Matt looks so amused.
Of course this made me think about Bob and Gerard swapping places. Somehow I doubt it would go well.
A while back I mentioned that I'd downloaded all the Panic in South Africa pictures in hq. I offered to upload them for someone and finally did so over the weekend. Because of the file size I had to split the upload into two, but if anyone is interested they're here and here

I couldn't watch it through the end. &MUSE;
Frank will sing, Ray will play bass, Gerard will play lead guitar and Mikey will play drums and Bob will play rhythm guitar. I can get behind that.

Date: 2009-09-21 01:59 pm (UTC)I loved that they did it, but I have to admit, I felt bad for the presenter. She should have known enough about the band to know they'd mixed things up, but still. I keep thinking how stupid she must have felt after.
Frank singing would take MCR in a new direction, less of the camp and more of the gobbing at people in the front row. Just thinking of Bob on guitar is making me laugh. He'd better do some Toroesque guitar humping.

Date: 2009-09-21 07:42 pm (UTC)I think it would be mostly muscle memory, like, they'd swap and know how to drum or to sing but still be very much themselves. Like, no way would Bob want to be at the front but at the same time, he's got this feeling running through him that's all Gerard's need for attention and desire to be seen.
Gerard would drum, but he'd feel lonely back there, like he's removed in some way.
It also makes me think about mental states, because Bob is so steady and Gerard always battling to keep away from that edge. It would be so hard to unexpectedly face that reversal.

A one shot where Gerard is so desperately on the edge and almost over it and the boys just all wanting to help him and feeling helpless because they don't know what's going on and each one of them getting a swap through his body over the span of a few hours... Gerard in each of theirs feeling the sadness, the fierce protectiveness, the love, the feelings they all have about him and each other.
Then it's his swap through Mikey's body that he realizes what's going on with his brother (and Mikey sees a mirror of himself in Gerard) is so much like his own issues (minus a few) that it ends up saving them both. Surrounded by the men they call friends that are so much more than that.

Date: 2009-10-06 09:30 am (UTC)Well, they were on a tv show where it was obvious the host didn't have a clue who they were and they were also forced to sing to a recorded track which they don't like to do. So, Matt ( the front man/singer ) swapped places with Dom ( the drummer ) Matt didn't even try to pretend he was drumming correctly and while Dom lip synched it was all very awkward looking, especially as after the song the presenter interviewed Dom, thinking he was the front man.

Exactly! If a band is coming on your show you research them. Knowing who the singer is has to be the most basic fact ever.
