Feb. 29th, 2012 12:53 pmI was finally able to renew my extra icons today. Oh old icon friends, how I've missed you.
Remember how I asked people to tell me their AU ideas about that Mikey picture I posted? Well,
madambeetroot went one better and wrote me Way bros comment fic and it's all kinds of wonderful ♥
I've finished my brbb \o/ Well nearly, I'm in the process of editing it now, but it'll be submitted on time for sure. Which means I wrote about 12k in less than a week, which is a lot for me. Then I'll just need a title and summary, and to go through my usual, what the hell rating is this damn thing and does it need warnings dance.
I've been thinking about what to write for the wave one BBBs. I think one may be set in my pic for 1000 universe. I'm sure that can support a multi band h/c story that contains lots of Way bros and hand holding.
I got mail. Thank you
sperrywink for the card and
turlough for the postcard. ♥ for you both.
So, how many people have been listening to Folie a Deux and Soul Punk today? *raises hand*
First fandom I had self-insertion fantasies about: I've never had any, at least not that I can remember. Even now I don't imagine myself in the stories I write/think about. I'm just an on looker.
First fandom in which I interacted (online and in person) with other fans: In person, a Trek con. I went with James and recognised one of the people there as one of my favourite fanfic writers. I went over to say thank you for writing such awesome stories, I was shaking so much I felt sick after. Online, a Torres/Paris mailing list. I was such a huge shipper for those two.
Pairing in the first slash fanfiction I read: Chakotay/Paris. Which was interesting as at that point I had no idea slash fic actually existed. I followed links and found myself at a n/c, angst and h/c heavy C/P and remember thinking, hello, I've found my people.
First fanfiction I read that made me think, 'YES, this is exactly the kind of fanfiction I'd like to write...' : I don't know, because in my early fandoms I had no desire to write at all and when I did it was because I wanted to do something for Mouse more than any great desire to write fic. I still don't think I'm any great writer or have any specific writing goals, it's just something I do.
Pairing in the first fanfiction I wrote: I actually know this one. Jim/Blair. Like many other people I'm sure.
First OTP: I don't have one. I have One True Characters, so if you're talking about the character I fell for first, totally and utterly. Tom Paris. Man, I loved him so much, still do in fact. He suffers so well.
First RPS/F OTP: Same applies as above. In which case, Kevin Richardson. Be still my little Backstreet loving heart.
First fannish friend I met in person: I think it was
ephemera I went down to Whitby to meet her and we wandered and talked and she still liked me even though I was the most awkward ever.
First character I formally roleplayed: Never have.

You know I am listening to Folie a Deux!
I love this firsts meme. I need to do it.

I do know. That album has two Sea Au mix songs. I'm just saying....
You should. It's fun, though man, my fannish firsts feel like a lifetime ago. Especially hanging out on the P/T shipper mailing list.

Date: 2012-02-29 02:51 pm (UTC)I don't know what it was about the challenge but getting the words out was hard. What with going over the holiday season and then no tags. I just kept pushing it to one side always.

Date: 2012-02-29 03:17 pm (UTC)Same here! I just--I only signed up in January, but then no_tags happened and suddenly there were only two weeks left. And then one week and then ... PANIC. :-|

You got my card, yay!

Date: 2012-02-29 08:10 pm (UTC)I too recognised a fan writer at a Trek con and
leapt upon her unwary selfwent up to tell her how much I enjoyed her stories! How funny.no subject

Date: 2012-03-06 04:04 pm (UTC)I'm sure your meeting with the fan writer was much more polished than mine. I was a gibbering wreck. More nervous about that than meeting the celebs later.
