turpsI woke up this morning and it was actually sunny, and it wasn't raining. It was kind of amazing. Of course the sun was only out for a few minutes and it's been cloudy again since. But still, sun.
Been MIA, LJ/DW wise anyway, as I've been painting my bedroom this week. The same bedroom that we started decorating months ago. Since then we've been sleeping in a half scraped, half primer painted, no carpeted room and it was getting me down. I've been tempted to ask Kay to finish it off but at the beginning of the week I scraped together some get up and go and decided I started it I could damn well finish it. So as of now all the walls apart for behind the wardrobes are primed, the curtains are down and washed and the bookcases temporarily in the spare room. As a bonus all the books are now stacked on the windowsill as a make-shift curtain.
Next week I'll get the coloured paint then I can finally get the room finished, including getting my pictures back up. I've also been throwing stuff out, all my old Cult Times, TV Zone and Star Trek mags got recycled along with my Star Trek fact files, because no matter if it took ages to collect them they haven't been looked at for years. Therefore, nothing but clutter. I did spare a glance at my old hockey magazines/programmes, but couldn't part with those. They represent years following the Wasps and while they do take up a lot of space, they're staying for now.
After talking things over withkopperblaze I've finally decided which story to run with for wave three, so I'll be trying to finish that this week. Also, how great has BBB been lately? I'm thrilled at all the Frank/Mikey stories that have been posted and while I have a huge to-read list it's a good problem to have.
Things in the garden are growing like crazy. The courgettes have flowers and the beets are huge. The tomatoes, beans, cucumber and spring onions are all flourishing and we have chillies ready to be picked. Now all we need is more sun so they continue to grow.
It's comic con this weekend and all the new Way bros pictures are delighting me. I'm loving seeing Gerard with his dark hair and poncho, and Mikey in his huge hat and old t-shirt. It's just really great to see them again, and I'm holding out hope that Mikey takes off that hat so I can see his hair. If you haven't seen MCR updates have all the pics so far, and there's the stalkerish video of the Way bros that shows yet again Mikey and his phone are bffs.
Teen Wolf remains all kinds of amazing. I watched the live stream interview with Steven Smith the other day and enjoyed it a lot. They're all adorable.
I haven't done a meme in forever but the one behind the cut took no effort at all so I went for it. Though the results aren't interesting in the slightest.

Date: 2012-07-14 04:43 pm (UTC)I went for the diner!AU in the end. The Mikey/Pete story needs a lot more time than I have. It's all plotted but it's a story that'll need a load of research and careful writing, while the diner!AU will be much easier to write.
And yeah, rough draft hides so many sins. You've plenty of time to polish.

Things are growing like crazy on my balcony too. There are finally buds on the pelargoniums too but with no sun they're just standing there and refusing to open, grrrr!
What is Gerard wearing??! It looks like some weird combination of poncho and hoodie and while it's totally adorable on him it really accentuates his bad posture :-) The little stalker video was hilarious.

Gah, yeah. The lack of sun is what we're dealing with too. Where things are growing but not to the extent they should be. It's been such weird weather lately, you wouldn't think it was summer at all.
It's totally a poncho with a hood. It's so perfectly him that I can't help laughing. But it looks ridiculously comfortable too. I've just been watching another vid where he runs into the panel and it was said he looks like a little duckling which set me off too. The Way bros really aren't good at this running lark *g*

One of the best things about it is, like you've found out, that you get to clear out some of the clutter. Isn't it funny how much we end up accumulating?

I've got 9 more BBBs to read (out of 21) and an additional 3 - 4 Wave 1s that I'm not sure I want to attempt reading.
In truth, I really can't believe that Wave 3's draft is due next Friday. DDDD: I'm confident I'll crack the 10k, but it'll have some hardcore placeholders. Crazily enough, I signed up for both art and mixes too. So...it's whip-cracking time as I need to have as much ready before I have to do fanworks for other people.
Did you see that YouTube video where Gerard said that he wasn't sure if he was going to attend Comic Con this year (because he didn't have anything to present)? I have to day that I might, per-maybe-haps, have done a bit of an eyeroll. Way bros at Comic Con are a total given. Just like Mikeyway's awkward!knees will make anyone go AWWWWWW.
With the (so far official) announcement that the Killjoys comic is coming out next year, I'm thinking that the chances are good for Way bros to pop out at Comic Con again. Well, that is, if the new album doesn't come out first. *ponders* Statistically-speaking, though, the majority of MCR's albums tend to drop in the fall so...

We have so much clutter, much of it stuff that'll never get used. Old clothes, magazines, video tapes that will never be played again. It feels good to get rid of it all, but doing so takes a while.
The garden is going great now. The first courgettes are nearly ready to be picked. I can't wait.
I did see that video and had the same reaction. They're both such huge fanboys it was inevitable that they'd go, whether they had an official reason or not.
I hope you do go to Comic Con 2013, that would be fabulous. And if you do so you could send Mikey some love from me :D
