Sep. 26th, 2012 01:03 pmThank you so much
sperrywink for my virtual gift. It looks great next to the sloth ann I got from
kopperblaze ♥ for you both.
xojemmaxo is all kinds of fantastic. First, she created pod fic of my Gerard/Mikey amnesia trope ficlet, and then posted the most amazing Frank/Mikey vandays fan art. Go look at it, it's amazing!
I was very happy to hear bandomstuffsit will be running again this year. It's not the holiday season without having an exchange story to write. Now I'm impatiently waiting for the sign up posts to go up.
Gerard performing at the iHeartRadio festival. I like the song and video, but ouch. That performance was painful to watch.
There's actual blue sky today as opposed to the last few days when it was chucking it down non-stop. Parts of town flooded and Corey got stuck on the bus for an hour and managed to travel all of half a mile before we contacted his college and found out the river banks had burst so he couldn't have gone in anyway. So he turned around and came home.
Yesterday was meh all around really. Issues with mam and my brother and our heating has been broken and the heating man who was supposed to come to fix it yesterday cancelled due to the weather. So everything was damp and cold and annoying. But, today it's not raining and he said he'll be here tomorrow to fix things and things have simmered down a little family wise.
Which is why I'm playing catch up online while James sleeps on the couch. He's just started night shift and for some reason decided to sleep downstairs instead of going to bed. Which, fair enough, he's a heavy sleeper so I can still watch some of my downloads. But really, I'm sure the bed would have been more comfortable.
Though at least this way I can laugh at him as he mutters on in his sleep *g*

Date: 2012-09-26 01:52 pm (UTC)The performance was pretty awkward, and I watched it with (fondly) raised eyebrows, but. Festival crowds, especially if they're not really there for your band, suck. :/ I think he seemed to gain a bit of confidence during the song? But the crowd never responded, so. But he sang it well! I thought. Like, I thought he did pretty fucking well. I like to think that Mikey was waiting for him backstage, and hugged him, and told him that he did well. <3333
Oh, wow, sucks about the floods, and your heating. :((( *hugs*

Date: 2012-09-26 02:00 pm (UTC)It has to suck beyond the telling to put the effort in and get nothing back. You could tell he was missing having people to play off on stage too. It was just so weird to see him like that, especially the walking off at the end. Usually he's all about the interaction, with the crowd and his band, so when that was missing it left him looking exposed. But I give him huge props for doing it in the first place.
I like to think he was too. I'm sure he'd tell Gerard he did well even if he bombed completely, forgot the words and fell offstage.
The flooding was ridiculous yesterday. James had to go to work 2 hours early as the main motorway was closed. Thankfully no rain today though, and fingers crossed, heating tomorrow.

Date: 2012-09-26 02:05 pm (UTC)Yeah, it does suck, and the walking off was weird, but it seemed very... In touch with the song? Like, to me it almost seemed like he dropped the mic and stomped off. I mean. He didn't. But that was the impression I got, lol. But yeah, the crowd did suck. And re: Mikey, I'm thinking of the Comic Con thing where Gee had Mikey come backstage and Mikey was all "You did great!" and HUG. (cee_m's recap. :D)
Wow. *crosses fingers for heating* (Btw, your Mikey/Gerard, secretly a virgin prompt is almost done. :DDD)

Date: 2012-09-26 03:03 pm (UTC)I guess I'm glad I don't care enough about Gerard's solo stuff to watch it. It sounds like I would cringe.
I'm sorry yesterday was meh. Hopefully it will all be better today. {{hugs}}

Date: 2012-09-26 04:43 pm (UTC)Ugh, your yesterday sounds really bleh. No heating when it's rainy and cold is awful! I hope you'll get your heating fixed while the nice weather lasts. And flooding is so annoying. Hopefully it won't happen again this year.
Laughing at James when he sleeps, you're so evil :-)

Date: 2012-09-26 06:03 pm (UTC)Yesterday was the pits. The heating man says he'll come tomorrow morning so I'm hoping it won't be an expensive repair. I guess another plus is it happened now and not winter, when a lack of heating would be a whole lot worse.
He was funny! I don't know what he was dreaming about but someone was getting a good telling off *g*

Date: 2012-09-26 06:04 pm (UTC)I love the actual video he did, but the live performance would make you cringe. He didn't act like himself at all.
Today was much better. Thank you ♥

Date: 2012-09-26 06:06 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think it was deliberate and not him going off in a strop or something, but it just added to the whole weird situation. A Gerard without stage banter is a strange Gerard.
Ahh, that recap was the best. I like to think they've spent their whole lives doing that. Hugs and encouragement after every event.
\o/ I'm looking forward to reading it.

Date: 2012-09-27 12:55 am (UTC)Gerard's performance was v., v. awkward. I was worried about how he could do the song (because the lyrics are pretty twisty) and forgot about the actual performance until he was onstage. I thought he did the best he could do considering the circumstances (the show itself, the crowd, the fact that he was doing the thing basically solo since deadmau5 was all the way across the room, etc.)
At worst, it'll trigger anyone's embarrassment squick. At best, it shows how much Gerard needs his band (for no other reason but that his band totes gets it when he needs to sass it up. *g*) I mean, he's the frontman, but he works best when he's with his brothers/bandmates (who will back him up without question.)
Yikes, you're getting heavy rains too? It's been raining every day starting in the early evening over here.
Here's hoping that the repairman shows up tomorrow (today).

I know a few people who couldn't watch Gerard perform as it hit their motts button and bad. I don't blame them for that as it is painful to watch at times, mainly because he did try but just had nothing to play against. The audience, a backing band, nothing. He really is someone who shines the most when he's around people he loves and trusts.
The rain has been ridiculous. It's the first time our town has actually flooded and hopefully it's the last.
He did. We have heat now. When we don't need it.
