Nov. 16th, 2012 06:41 amLast Friday James wasn't feeling well so had to call in sick to work -- genuinely, we had to cut short our first drive in the car as he felt so sick. The next day he was feeling fine, and went back to work, to a load of people looking shocked when they saw him. As well as dispatching the emergency ambulances his work arranges hospital transfers, and it turned out the night he was off someone with the same name, age etc was transferred hospital to hospital with a major brain bleed. Combine that with him being off and they had to do a site wide email to say he wasn't actually dying.
The Coke truck advert is back on TV \o/ But to counteract that, I've seen many houses that are decorated for Christmas already. Which, too soon.
We took nanna to the Metro Centre yesterday. She loves going there to see the Christmas lights and normally walks as far as the market square and people watches while we look in the shops. Not yesterday though, for a woman in her 90s she was motoring and we did a fair bit of walking. Not fast and with plenty of stops but we covered some distance. We called in at a cafe for tea for nanna and iced mango drinks for me and James, and then later went for a drive to the coast where we took her to our favourite restaurant. I do love it there, it overlooks the sea and it has delicious food for a decent price and we were sitting at a table next to the window watching all the dogs play on the sand, when the sun broke out over the millpond like ocean, and nanna said, 'it's times like this that you remember forever' and man, I love her.
Though, I'm never going clothes shopping with her again. She wanted to buy me a top for Christmas but lets just say our tastes don't mesh in the slightest /o\
Today I need to do stuff in the house and write more stuffsit. Two weeks in I've still made my mini nano totals daily, which means the story is moving forward, slow but sure. I'm delighted the Way bros are back on twitter and keep laughing when I look at the new pictures of Mikey, a new hat and a :| face, he spoils us. Also, Alicia's wresting vid *____*
Right, posting this then breakfast and waking the kidlet up.
ETA: Thank you to
sperrywink for the Thanksgiving card and
llamabitchyo for the Christmas card, even if you did make me all misty eyed about what you wrote inside. I did send you an email, so hopefully I got the right address.

It makes me so happy to see them all twittering up a storm again. Gerard was delighted over snow yesterday I noticed.

Date: 2012-11-16 06:40 pm (UTC)She had a good time yesterday. So did we.
He was! I love that he and Mikey have gone away together. And Mikey's twittering up a storm right now. It's like the old days when I had to keep adding tweets to MWD posts just after posting them.

Date: 2012-11-18 05:48 pm (UTC)Hurray for Nanas, even if their tastes don't match yours (I was in M&S earlier, and some of their stuff - there's not enough 'No' in the world, not at any price or in any size.)

Date: 2012-11-27 03:46 pm (UTC)Seriously, nanna was looking at some hideous stuff. We were in Evans and she kept being attracted to this cream, lacy top thing with a high neck and much shorter than I like to wear them. And just, no.

Nanna's spirit is really awesome! I totes understand the whole /o\ about different tastes. After getting one too many not-for-me clothes for birthdays and holidays, I've made it abundantly clear that the best gift is a gift card.

Date: 2013-04-18 08:39 am (UTC)Nanna has a real get up and go spirit about her, at least, she did before hurting her back. But yeah, we really don't share clothes tastes at all. I still shudder thinking of the shirt she wanted to buy me D:
