After years of struggling to be taken seriously as a bodyguard, Frank Iero is finally well established. He loves his boss, Ray, he loves his job, and he prides himself on his professionalism. But then he's assigned to be the personal bodyguard of Mikey Way.

Mikey Way, aka Roboboy, is a successful high fashion model. Loved by designers and the public alike for his trademark lack of emotion, but mocked by the tabloid press for the exact same reason. Mikey is someone that Frank's sure he'll hate. Except it doesn't work out that way.

In fact, it doesn't take long before Frank discovers he really likes Mikey. Maybe too much.

I guess you could say there's a subtle theme of h/c -- though not as apparent as previous years -- and I kind of like that Mikey guy a lot.

My best story of this year:

And the Painted Ponies. What started as a fun idea to talk about on twitter turned into an actual story, one where I made sure to explain just how Frank became a bodyguard and Mikey a supermodel.

Again, Painted Ponies. I had so much fun writing it, with all the nods to ANTM and thinking of the outfits Mikey would wear and that Pete would design. And of course, Robo boy ♥

And that honour goes to, Painted Ponies. It got by far the most comments/kudos than any other story this year.

Story of mine most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion:

I got lovely comments for everything, but the killjoys origin story A Spark Set to Flame didn't get much attention at all. Maybe because it was gen with only a nod to past Gerard/Korse? Who knows?

Story that could have been better?

Maybe my stuffsit. Due to time I had to cut it down a lot from my original idea. I love what I ended up with, but the original idea would have been cool to explore.

Most fun story to write:

Cooked and Slightly Cracked ie, the story where the alien Way bros get accidentally soul bonded and lay eggs. It was so much fun to write, and was surprisingly popular. Who would have guessed my most popular OC would be an egglet?

Sexiest story?

There's not really a stand out this year, but I do like the scene in Painted Ponies where Mikey is dressed in his corset and high heels.


Hardest story to write:

A Spark Set to Flame due to me having difficulties separating that verse from Embers verse which was so clear in my head. My stuffsit for reasons that had me emailing various people despairing at what I was writing.

Easiest story to write?

Scavenger flowed nicely. I had a very clear image in my head about what I was writing.

Where did you publish/archive your stories?

Start of the year LJ/DW and AO3, but I've started to post to AO3 only.

Story I haven't yet written, but intend to:

I have a nice chunk of a Mikey/Pete story written where Pete is in an accident and Mikey is his nurse. This year I will finish the slave fic. I'd also like to write a fully fleshed out Mikey/Gerard. Maybe it can be this years multi band h/c epic, as there was a sad lack of one of those this year.



And that's that. I didn't write as much as some years, but the list contains some stories I love a lot. Bandom still holds my heart, so here's to another year of writing in the fandom.
