James went on a day trip with the scouts yesterday. They went to Edinburgh, hitting some of the tourist spots like the dungeons, then had a pizza party with some local scouts up there before coming home late evening. It's the first time he's been out and about like that for awhile, so I'm taking it as a hopeful sign he wanted to go and managed okay. Plus, it means he got some company all day. James is a talker, always has been, and after a while just talking to me and Corey doesn't cut it.

He brought me back a cool mobile hung with bats. I've got a very similar one that hangs in my kitchen, but instead of bats it has multi-coloured dolphins and he knows I love that, so that bat one was a great choice.

It was nanna's birthday on Wednesday so we went to see her on the night. She's slowly getting better too, having gone out last Sunday for the first time since before Christmas. She only went to my uncle's house, which meant walking to his car for a few feet at either end, and that exhausted her, so while it's a step forward, it's a small one. Still, any step is good.

We've been up to see her again today and everyone was back in the kitchen and not the living room, which is another good step. I'm not sure why family visiting tends to happen in nanna's kitchen, but it always has done. Everyone crammed in the small room and always a plate of freshly made misshapen sausage rolls there to be eaten. The sausage rolls were there again today, too. That was good to see. Then it was dropping Corey off at home, a drive to Asda to pick up a few things and then eating dinner in the sunshine next to the ocean before going to see mam for a while.

I'm still considering joining the BFF fest. I do like gen fic a lot and don't write enough of it, but I haven't written a word since no tags. Then again, if I joined I could ask for Mikey and Ryan as bffs, I'm sure someone would be delighted to get that prompt to work with :D

I finished that book series I was talking about. I'd like to say that it improved but it really didn't. Now I'm reading This is Not a Test, and enjoying it a lot. Well as much as you can enjoy a book about a disaster that results in zombies trying to get to and eat teens holed up in a school. Which reminds me, I have an ep of The Walking Dead to watch \o/

So on that note, I'm off to watch some zombies, or read some zombies. Who knows, maybe I'll throw caution to the wind and do both.
