Apr. 2nd, 2013 06:50 pmWe went for a drive yesterday, me, James and mam. We decided to head up to sheep land -- the north Pennine moors -- and then stop at Barnard Castle for dinner, and had such a good time.
The moors were still covered in really deep snow. So much so mam got really nervous about getting stuck, so we didn't stop like we wanted to. She really had nothing to worry about. While there was still snow up there, the road was cleared perfectly, and any traffic was moving freely. The snow banks either side of the road were impressive to see, and it was just beautiful up there. One funny thing, though. We stopped at a small clearing that's used for walkers leaving their cars. It's at a point right in the middle of the moors, and when we arrived three other cars were already there. There was also a man a few feet away with a huge camera on a tripod. At first we thought he was taking pictures of the moors, so James got out to take some pictures too, then I realised the man was taking pictures of a woman behind a snow drift, a woman who was, in fact, wearing nothing but an elasticated boob tube that left nothing to the imagination.
So you know, to the photographer who was apparently taking semi-nude snow shots, we didn't mean to invade your shoot. Sorry. And to the lady model. Kudos to you, because damn, it was cold up there.
Then, after driving to Barney we stopped for fish and chips, then set off driving again, surprised that it had only taken two hours for the round trip, so we drove to the beach and had hot drinks at a beach side cafe. It was only after we dropped mam off at home we realised that it had seemingly taken such a short time as I'd forgotten to put my watch forward, and James hadn't put the car clock forward. But, oh well, we still had a good time.
Other stuff.
I loved Pete mentioning Mikey in his green tea Kit Kat instragram comment. Those two will forever hold my heart. A love shown via green tea kit kats and battered Mars bars -- in my head at least. The Mars bars anyway, green tea kit kats are canon. Yes.
art_brutal has written me a companion piece to the bandomstuffsit story she wrote for me. It's a mixed up, muddled up, shook up world. It's got Way bros, and as you may know, I love Way bros. So, win!
I wrote some of my bbb today. Actual words were written. I'm saying nothing about quality, but they're there on the page.
And let's have an old skool GIP shall we?
green offered to make icons for people, and I gave her a photo of Mikey and Frank I'd like to be icon'ed, and she did a great job.
I have new Vikings and Game of Thrones to watch tonight. All the bloody and violent TV will be mine. First though, a bath and book. I'm reading 13 by Kelley Armstrong at the moment and enjoying it a lot.
