Apr. 8th, 2013 06:09 pmWent shopping and came back to see FOB had put up their album.
Save Rock and Roll is so good. SO GOOD!
This is opposed to leaving for shopping where the news was full of the death of Margaret Thatcher. I'm not going to celebrate that, as celebrating the death of anyone is wrong. But I live in what used to be a mining village. I was kid when the miner's strike was on and remember sitting on a wall near to my house, watching as the miners marched through the streets, how my parents and other people in the area would provide food for the miner's families who had nothing, who were forced to beg for food for them and their children.
Thatcher said she'd break the unions, and she did.
The pit is gone now, has been for a long time, and ultimately Thatcher means nothing now. She was a frail old woman who'd done all her damage in the past. So I won't celebrate her passing, but I surely won't shed a tear for it either.
