Jul. 24th, 2013 03:01 pmJames and Corey are fixing a crack in the toilet cistern. The crashing and banging and arguing is approaching a level ten at the moment. They'll be over it as soon as the job is done, but man, I could bang their heads together right now.
In other news. Still hot. Still humid. We did have rain but overnight and it's back to sunshine now. Though, it is forecast for more rain later.
My BBB writing plans have been thrown in disarray as James has been off work with severe tonsillitis since yesterday. He went to work Monday but at the end of his shift felt terrible. Went to the doctors yesterday who advised him to stay off, especially as his job is all talking. So my plans of being able to write in a quiet house are gone.
Dad also came to visit yesterday, and he said we've done well in the garden :D Then later, he told me how he'd arranged and paid for his own funeral and there was a letter with instructions and a will so me and my brother wouldn't have to worry. Which is good to know in a practical sense as I don't have any savings, and neither does my brother. But even so. DNW to think about that.
Other sad things. Two young teenage girls died in a river in a town very close to ours. The first week off from school, a beautiful sunny day and they went to play in the water, and paid the worst price, their bodies being found last night. I can't even imagine the pain their parents are going through right now.
It seems the toilet fixing has been done, thank goodness. So I'm going to try and write some words. I am over 7k so will make the minimum word count, but wow, it'll be the roughest of rough drafts. And to think after wave one I said I'd never be writing so last minute again.

Date: 2013-07-25 12:31 pm (UTC)I hear you so much on the DNW to think about death. It's good that we know what our loved ones want. It's good that they're taking care of that kind of stuff... But can we please just not have to face those things if we don't have to? /o\
*hugs*
Hope the noise is gone and everything's fixed!

Date: 2013-07-31 08:28 am (UTC)You'd think! I don't think James could actually ever stop talking *g*
But yeah, it did put a spanner in the works bbb wise, and then mam going to hospital added to that. I wanted to have finished much more than I actually did.
I was so proud to get a dad thumbs up.
Good to know but not really something you want to think about.
Exactly.

Date: 2013-07-31 08:31 am (UTC)It is. Their friends did a candlelight vigil for them and posted a video of them on Facebook, and both were heart breaking to see.

That's exactly how I feel about it. Yeah, it is good that it's sorted. But now I know, lets not talk or think about it again.
Everything is fixed. Thank goodness!

Date: 2013-07-31 08:33 am (UTC)Their parents sent cards to all the emergency services thanking them for their efforts while looking for them. I'm so impressed they stayed so classy while no doubt crushed by grief.
And you got your drafts done, so \o/
